Good recipes no pictures
I haven't really tried any other recipes yet but I can tell you they seem pretty simple. The only problem is there are no pictures if I had known that I probably would not have purchased it.

Contains a Lot of Good Information
I had no idea that such products as Ener-g Baking Powder and Ener-g Baking Soda existed which are so useful to CKD patients. I found a few good recipes. There are food charts that help one to balance phosphorus and potassium in the diet and in cooking. It doesn't stop here. You can then adapt your own cooking and favorite recipes based on the information provided. Food doesn't have to be bland. I've read several books for renal diets and some were very contradictory and confusing. This book was very helpful and I highly recommend it.

So I was really starving myself instead of eating healthy which is even worse than eating drunk food
I thought it would be one of my new year’s resolutions to try to eat healthy. I have tried to do so before and failed miserably. I had no particular eating techniques or habits that I had to adapt to. So I was really starving myself instead of eating healthy which is even worse than eating junk food. Now this book is very interesting because it gives me a plan that I could follow to actually achieve my goals. First of all, the 28 day meal plan is definitely designed for someone who is just learning about certain physiological conditions or issues such as liver and stomach issues which are caused in some cases by their diet. It's also amazing for those that are just into putting a meal plan together. I have only done a few of the recipes myself. I consider myself to be a little average in the culinary skills and I found the recipes to be easy to follow. If you could follow directions then this cookbook would be a very good choice. I, for instance, am an electrical engineer and I follow this book to the letter not only because of my line of work but mostly because I am not too keen in the whole cooking activity. So far following this book and its recipes have not been that complicated. When it comes to the recipes’ section, there a variety of them some are about sauces, seasonings, breakfasts, soups, seafood, dessert etc... Aside from directions, I think the author of the book could have put more photos for the different steps of a recipe. I think it would be a very good way to attract people to try different recipes and make it easier for them to follow with the directions given. Moreover, I was kind of disappointed to see that I had to go to the index in order to follow a particular plan. The book itself is a good book but it could have been much more organized. However, I would recommend it for the information that it contain. But one must not accept to catch their attention from an imagery perspective.

Renal diets don't have to be boring!
I purchased this book when my a family member was diagnosed with kidney failure and began dialysis. We knew nothing about a renal diet and this book is a must-have. The recipes are super easy and short with few ingredients and no complicated directions. Our family member had not done much cooking so it was very much appreciated. Each recipe includes number of calories and amounts of potassium, phosphorous, protein, sodium, fat, etc. The book starts out with clear and concise information regarding what bodily function each nutrient is needed for and the approximate range a person on dialysis should stay within which was extremely helpful. The book also includes a 28 day menu plan for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as snacks. The menus use the recipes in the book and include shopping lists for each week. For each day if you use the recipes and/or menus you just have to add the amounts listed at the end of the recipes to calculate the levels for each nutrient. There are even a number of seasoning mixes you can put together and have available for delicious and gourmet tasting culinary delights. So simple, yet very inexpensive!

It's a great book with lots of mouth watering recipes . I also appreciate the shopping guide, in all it's a very helpful book in re to kidney health. Even so I had ordered a used book, I received a perfectly new book - thank you!

This is a very good resource for planning diet for patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) or renal impairment. While it is written primarily for a western audience, with some application of mind and some modifications you can adapt the same here in India. The point is to follow the underlying logic of planning your diet for any CKD patient or any suffering from renal impairment. It can make the patient's life much better compared to being put on renal supplements commonly available in drugstores.

Is a basic book for people under renal fail. But is necessary separate récipe for patiens, I mean, renal fail in first, and second grade. Or 3th, 4th grade.

explains everything and recommends methods all necessary for those currently with failing kidneys. I can eat normally so sometimes I even look in this book for my own meal inspo. the meal plans are well thought out and diverse, its an amazing book

This is an excellent Renal Diet Cookbook and very easy to read and follow and easy recipes to make and include in your everyday life. It is a good book to start to make changes to your diet really easily.
