Wonderful story except for one tiny detail
I absolutely adore this story, but there's one element that always rubs me the wrong way. Faith's reasoning for not marrying Kenny is that she wouldn't be able to receive the sacraments in her Catholic church if she married a divorced man. However, that doesn't make sense. She's having premarital sex with him, which would also prohibit her from receiving the sacraments (or should). If it was that she really wanted to get married in the Catholic Church, that would be one thing, but even so that obstacle could be overcome if Kenny petitioned for an annulment of his first marriage (yes, non-Catholics can do this if they wish to marry in the Church).I understand that the whole point was that the excuse was a flimsy one because neither of them really wanted to get married anyway, but still. Faith, as an allegedly practicing Catholic, should have known better even if Kenny didn't.

Delightful
LaVyrle Spencer always delivers. Her contemporary novels are head and shoulders above the standard romance genre. While most romance fiction is pretty predictable with its central casting characters and cookie cutter story lines, Ms. Spencer's work is fresh and unique with each tale. Her characters are the kind of genuine people that you've met in your own everyday life. Ditto for her locations and story lines. Something special, heartwarming and wonderful with each story.Small Town Girl continues this run of excellence. In addition to Ms. Spencer's absolutely true to life stories and cast, she takes the time and effort to research the topics around which her stories are built. As a practicing musician, I can tell you that her depiction of a recording studio and the musicians who ply their art therein is dead on, as is her portrayal of the music business in general. Delightful stuff even if you're not looking for the romance angle!

Another Great Read
I thought I had read all of Lavyrle Spencer's books and somehow missed this one. My favorite was Separate Beds, however, I loved every one and after finishing this story I want to go back & read all of them again. It was a sad day for us readers when she decided to retire from writing. She is one of the best.

One to read over and over!
This is one of those books I can read over and over. And I do! At least 5 or 6 times over the years. One of my all time faves. I have it in paperback as well as the kindle version. A sweet, feel good story with real characters feeling and expressing real emotions.

Nice, sweet and interesting
Fairly unrealistic story but it describes the the inside of the country music industry and the non stop, hectic schedule of a star. Just a good old fashioned love story. Thank you Lavyrle for not throwing in the predictable "break up" of thelovers once they finally got together. It seems every love story tries to throw those new lover break ups in and they become almost irritating rather than adding to the story!

Lavyrle Spencer Books
I have all the Lavyrle Spencer books and wanted them in my Kindle library to re-read. There is not one of her books that I do not like. They are all great stories with well developed characters. Some make you feel Nostalgic some thoghtful and some light-hearted. Ms. Spencer was a really good story teller. Her books have stood the test of time and I am really enjoying re-visiting her stories. I hope you enjoy them as I do.

Loved it
If you haven't read Lavyle Spencer, what are you waiting for? The stories that she writes are all down to earth and believable but different enough that you don't feel the author is following a "recipe" and just changing the names and locations. I've never read any of her books that I haven't enjoyed completely and this is no exception.
