Best laser. Did a driveway with this laser. Worked well. Shoots far with the included tag.

Customers should know that you cannot use this outside at all during the daylight hours. You just can't see it unless you point it directly at your ruler stick with your fingers. Trying to level a surface to pour a slab and I had to have my partner hold the stick while I tried to find it manually. It is a decent unit if it's kind of dark or your inside. The advertising is disingenuous at best, ie a 1200 ft diameter outdoors.....That's a bunch of bull crap!!

I do recommend it 💯 this rotary laser beam has a good reaching in the field. The self-leveling helps you to get the most precise results. The only thing is, you need to buy the tripod separately.

This is my first rotary laser. In fast rotation mode the laser is too dim for outdoors. The slow mode sometimes is brighter and usable outside. The slow rotation takes a few seconds to start up, during which it sometimes reverses or seems to be stuck for a moment. But it worked.

Used it to level out a pad I was building. First time ever using one and got it done with no issue. Very easy to learn and use.

Some tools from Dewalt I are good, some tools are great, this one fits solidly in the great category. When I went shopping for a laser detector combo, I was looking for a tool that I could use with home construction for my own home. The Contractor that I had for the construction portion of our home rented an expensive tool for the foundation. I wanted something similar for my own use throughout the project, but I wasn't interested in spending 3 k on a rotary level, and at the time there wasn't alot of options for inexpensive rotary level and detectors (Bosch has a nice looking one now for a little bit more money). I took a chance on this one, and it has proven to be an outstanding tool. The auto leveling is a must have feature. I have used it for yard leveling, driveway construction, retaining wall building, lawn grading, drainage pipe trenching... list goes on. When I start a project, I just set it up as the first tool and there is stays, faithfully reporting the level. I bought a bosch extending stick, but its heavy, so I took a piece of 1x2 wood and graduated and it has been my go to level stick, unless I need to go over 5 feet. It would be nice if it fit the DeWalt battery, but the D batteries last quite a while. The detector is loud, almost too loud (meant for when machinery is running), I put a piece of tape over it to make it less obnoxious.
