Doggy Defenders: Tiger the Police Dog

Disappointed! I purchased 3 books as a gift and one of the books came damaged.

With all the negativity being directed towards law enforcement right now, it’s nice to find a book that focuses on the good, important work they do. This is about a Belgian Malinois and his human partner. They look for dangerous items to keep D.C. safe. The book does not discuss that many police dogs (including surely this one) are also trained to apprehend criminals, which I was glad about bc that would be too scary for this age group. Also nice photos of the dog just being a dog- snuggling, with his toy, etc.I also liked the human diversity shown- the handler is a female officer and Latina. A male African American officer also is shown.Also there is a nice list of safety tips in the back including dont pet dogs esp working dogs without asking.My 6yo enjoyed this book.

Great book to teach children the importance of police dogs! We were in dc and met Tiger and Officer Rodriguez. She could not have been nicer and told us all about Tiger and his book!
