Superb quality and perfect fit.
Cannot praise these cute little lights enough. There are very good quality, come very well packed, fit the cooker hob light recess perfectly and are as bright as the halogens if not brighter at a fraction of the running cost. Been on for 2 hours now and so far no flicker. Will update this review if things take a bad turn, otherwise very pleased and highly recommend 👌 And for those who (like me) are wondering how big they actually are, they are the size of a 10 pence coin and about 4 coins stacked in thickness. Hope this helps.

Nice bright LEDs - just check your drivers!
I bought these quite some time ago but only now had a chance to install. Our kitchen downlighters used halogen bulbs. Not only do these get incredibly hot, but they are not particularly efficient (meaning a high electricity bill) and often fail pretty quickly (meaning I feel I'm constantly buying replacements). I bought these on the off-chance that the transformer/driver fitted to the existing lights would work. It didn't, sadly! It mean they sat for quite a while 'til I had the time to look at a suitable driver for LED bulbs and then find the time to fit these. Having now done so, I'm really happy with these bulbs. Firstly, the design is clever - the shape is well suited to down-lighters which often have limited space to accommodate the commonly bulkier LED bulbs. These look a bit like Reece's Peanut Butter Cups (I appreciate that reference may be lost on many!) Main thing is, they fit well! They are also plenty bright and, looking at my smart meter, they certainly don't cause me any fear about the electricity bill. Cannot comment on longevity but hopefully they give a decent number of hours before packing in. Would definitely buy these as a replacement again when the time comes.

Good product
These fit the G4 holders well (unlike many of the cylinder shape as the LED packages are generally larger than their halogen brethren - disc shape, like these is what you want if you have under cupboard lighting in small holders) On the positive side, these have worked well for some hours now with no issues. On the down side, they didn't work with my existing transformer: - I needed an LED driver. Although a straight replacement would have been nice and replacing the transformers was a bit of a pfaff, its probably better to have the appropriate voltage source in the longer term.

A good, efficient and direct replacement for 20W halogen bulbs in under-cupboard lights
This is a preliminary review as the bulbs have been in use for only a day or so. I can confirm that due to their compact size, these bulbs can be used as a direct replacement for 20 W halogen bulbs in small, 12 V under cupboard lights. There was no need to remove the reflectors in the light fittings to make space for these LED bulbs, something that seems to be necessary with some other designs. I can also confirm that the LEDs work well with the existing 12 V ac transformers with no evident flickering, so I’ve not had to invest in new LED drivers and fiddle with the wiring. All that would have made the economic and practical case for replacing the halogen bulbs a lot less attractive to me! The vendor’s apparent claim in their description that these bulbs emit more light (2 W = 220 lumens) than a halogen bulb (Philips 20 W = 380 lumens) is untrue. However, in practice, they appear to be just bright, if not a bit brighter. This is probably due to the LEDs emitting all their light downwards, whereas a halogen bulb relies on the reflector in the light fitting to redirect a lot of its light, which is less efficient. At the advertised 3000 K, the colour of the LED light does appear a little cooler than a traditional halogen bulb at 2700 K, but for me it’s not very noticeable. Before I saw them in action, I probably would have chosen ‘warm white’ had that been an option with this design though. I like the design of this LED bulb as all the various electronic bits are neatly packaged within a ceramic heat sink, and not exposed on the back as on some other disk-type LED bulbs. They also came very neatly packaged in little individual cardboard boxes – with no plastic! That’s a nice eco touch on top of the 90% energy saving. I’ve been waiting a long time to find a truly equivalent, direct LED replacement for a 20 W G4 halogen bulb in a particularly small light fitting, and this seems to be a good one. Only time will tell whether they last in my light fittings as long as LEDs should, but I’m so hopeful they will that I’ve ordered another pack to put in all the other under cupboard lights in my kitchen! My only slight concern at this early stage is that, due to the slight insertion angle of the bulbs into the sockets, one or more of the LED chips furthest from the pins might come into contact with the frosted glass covers. I put those back to provide the original degree of mechanical protection to the light fittings. I don’t know whether this could or will affect the longevity of those chips and/or the whole bulb. I will report further if there are any issues, but I’m not expecting any. Note to vendor: If you can fit ‘under cupboard lights’ into your slightly strangely-targeted main heading, you might attract more buyers! Update: Having now fitted three more of these bulbs, including two in a cooker hood, I realise that my slight concern about the insertion angle was not due to the bulbs themselves but to the fact that the light fittings are 10+ years old and some of the bulb sockets are now very tight, having been cooked by the old halogen bulbs all those years. When inserted properly/fully into the sockets, these LED bulbs do not touch the frosted glass covers. Further update (September 2019): After 8 months, one of the five lamps I have in use as under cupboard lights has failed - just flickering dimly. (See before and after photos). This is a bit disappointing given that LEDs are supposed to last many thousands of hours, so sadly I've deducted one star. They're still a good alternative to halogen lamps though Another update as at May 2020: There have been no more premature failures in the 15 months these LEDs have been working in my five under-cupboard and two cooker hood lights. The under-cupboard lights have usually been on for more than 12 hours a day (even in daylight hours), so their durability has been well tested. On that basis I have restored my rating to 5 stars.

Fits well into cooker hood, bright warm white but has a slight flicker with a buzzing noise
Great lights for my cooker hood. Fits well but these do have a slight annoying flicker which is noticable.

Light output up, electricity bill down.
What can you say, it’s an LED bulb... Well they are very good to be honest, superb light output. The colour is warm white to bright white. Not the blue clinical white light. Easy to replace and after a year still no issues. The only thing I will say is that some older 12v transformers may cause flickering but that’s not the fault of the bulb that’s caused by a cheap transformer, they are cheap to replace from a good hardware supplier.

LEDs got hot and turn off when the should be on
The LEDs fit nicely in the recess. Good points finished! Bads points; When fitted and turned on, they worked for approximately 30 seconds before getting hot and turning off. The power was still on to the light fitting when the LEDs turned off so it was not an appliance issue. The concern is that LEDs by nature of design should not be getting hot. I was unable to see to what extent they heated up to as they turned off, but there may be a chance that they could overheat or draw too much current that may result in electrical damage.

Far brighter than previously purchased 2W G4 LEDs
These fit in recessed spotlights in motorhome. I had two types of lamp in the 11 spotlight fittings in the motorhome. Some had started to fail so I bought 4. These are far brighter than the 2W and 3W lamps I had bought previously, so I ended up buying 12 to replace all the lamps. They appear good quality. They are not cheap, but the light output is certainly impressive, and hopefully they will last.
