Very Effective, Given Enough Time.
Had a few fruit flies, mainly in the kitchen, should have dealt with it before it got out of hand. Bought these based on reviews and entrapment method. They are very sticky and you can get the residue on your hands (though it will wash-off with washing-up liquid). I found the best thing was to peel back both sides of the corners where the holes are, just enough to thread the wire through, then hold the wire while you peel the rest of it. Needs to be done carefully though, as the backing can tear rather than come off in one go. Hung 6 in the kitchen in the areas where they tended to congregate, and then one in every other room, by windows. Managed to trap 2 even as I was putting up the first one, but little progress during the rest of the day. However, after around 24 hours they had caught about 100. I then went away for 8 days and when I returned, well, they were virtually wiped-out - around 450 caught in total. I then used a single trap to manually catch the odd ones which had survived. Highly recommended.

It works
Hung 6 of these up around my gazebos as I was fed up of flies annoying me whilst eating. A week on and I am going to change them as they are full of flies. Easy to use. Only peel the corner where the hole is and then thread through the green bendy item. Hang it where you want it and then peel off the backing paper as it is very sticky underneath.

Let the flies get used to it and set up close to the soil
I managed to get some fungus gnats with a succulent plant and after the gnats had destroyed a part of it, I got a pack of yellow sticky fly traps:The hardest part in setting them up is getting the first bit of paper peeled away, the rest then comes off easy, maybe a little extension of the white paper left in places would help.I found the little peg clips very convenient, although I did shorten the sticks with a pair of garden cutters, because I wanted to make sure that the stickers are as close to the soil as possible.I only caught one fly on the first day, but once the flies had gotten used to it, the trap did a good job and I caught about 20 flies in the last three days. Hopefully this will stop or at least slow the spread to my other plants. Now I only need to break the cycle in the ground with some neem oil solution.

Did the job
I HAD little black flies in my aloe vera and succulent plants. Apparently this is very common, but very annoying. The butterflies are very sticky so be careful when peeling the paper off to reveal the stickiness. I used the little pegs on the sticks. Within a couple of hours the sticky butterflies had attracted a couple of little black flies. Within hours there were several. I used 2 butterflies over 4 plants and they do look decorative. I did change them over and refresh after a couple of days as it can look gruesome with loads of flies stuck to the butterflies. Did the job recommend 100%

The battle seems to be over
I've been trying to get rid off fungus gnats for weeks now (maybe even months) - used diatomaceous earth, diluted hydrogen peroxide with some success but the insects were still flying around and they seem to be becoming more intelligent in way they were hiding from me! So I decided to try these stickers, honestly not believing they would help much. But I was so wrong! I placed 1 or 2 of them in each of the infected plant pots, I noticed they worked better if they were actually very close to the soil. It's been over a week and I don't see any more of them flying around.

Great traps
Hung from living room light shades to collect the pesky flys and it worked wonders. Will be buying again when I need them.
