Very different to the tv show
Love the tv show. I read reviews saying that the book is quite different and more about the romance, but I love romance so though that’d be fine. But I disliked the book. I just found the girl unrealistic. We’re told that she’s always desperately wanted to be an actress - but the second she gets it, she’s kinda whingey about it. A lot of the characters felt like stereotypes and most of them - especially her friends, and Jordan - are completely different than in the tv show. Basically the tv show borrowed the starting point and the character’s names then rewrote the plot to make it way better. But even if I didn’t know the tv show I’d still have struggled with this, its just not very interesting, all the focus is the romance but the ending to all that is unsatisfying.Won’t bother with the sequel.

Loved it!
I wasn't sure what to make of Famous In Love when I first started reading it, I thought there were only two directions this type of book could go in. It could either be a brilliantly done novel that I absolutely adored, or a book that I threw across the room in a tantrum from my dislike of the book. I'm actually incredibly proud to say that, although I was a little frustrated at times by Famous In Love, I also really enjoyed reading it. I wouldn't say that it was the most incredible book I have ever read, but It was pretty darn awesome!Paige is our main protagonist in Famous In Love, and I have to admit I wasn't overly keen on her character at first. At first she really irritated me, and If it wasn't for the fact that the storyline was really interesting, I would have put the book down then and there. However, I am so glad I didn't, because Paige ended up turning into a brilliant and funny character, with lots of charm and depth to her that she didn't have at the beginning of the book.I was also a little worried about the obvious love-triangle that was implied before I even started reading Famous In Love. I'm not usually fond of love-triangles at all, but I actually found myself really intrigued by this one! The way Paige feels about both the love interests in Famous In Love, is completely different. They both make her feel completely different things than the other, which is what made me like it so much! I was honestly a little anxious to find out who she'd choose over the two boys, as their relationships are so stark and different. I honestly didn't have a clue as to what would happen next in Paige's relationships - I just had to keep guessing and most of the time I was wrong! Rainer and Jordan, the love interests, were both brilliant and beautifully developed characters that are just really swoon-worthy! It wasn't until the end of the book that I finally decided on who I wanted to root for, my opinion kept changing with every passing chapter.Overall, I thought Famous In Love was a fantastic book, and I definitely enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to! The different relationships throughout this book are what really kept me interested in Famous In Love, as they just kept on developing and growing until the very end. Rebecca Serle's writing is witty, sweet and interesting and she creates characters that you just can't help but love. I believe Famous In Love really deserves the 4/5 star rating, and I honestly can't wait to find out what happens next in this series as I'm sure it's going to be brilliant!

Swoon-worthy love triangle between three misunderstood & intriguing characters that are always in the spotlight
I’m a bit of a sucker for books about fame, because it’s something that not only fascinates me but also makes for exceptional escapism. When I was younger and first realised that I was a book addict, I would read Meg Cabot’s Teen Idol again and again. Teen Idol is about a girl who basically meets a gorgeous boy who just happens to be famous and, in a nutshell, they fall in love. So that basic idea has held a special place in my bookish heart ever since (which is why I had high hopes for Jennifer E. Smith’s This is What Happy Looks Like and Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher). What’s refreshing about Famous in Love is that the central character, Paige, becomes famous before she falls in love with the famous boy(s), so it explores the idea of fame and relationships in the public eye. It’s more gritty than other similar books I’ve read. Fame isn’t made out to be all about money, friends and happiness. Instead, Famous in Love explores how much of an adjustment fame can be and how much it can change all of your relationships, including those you have with your family and life-long friends.I’m not sure how I feel about Paige in this book though. I didn’t quite get her – it’s always hard to relate to someone with a life so different from your own, but I would have like to have felt more connected to her than I did throughout this novel. I also struggled with parts of the romance – sometimes if felt like Paige was just falling into their arms (I say their because this book has one whopping great big love triangle) because she was lonely and confused. And maybe that’s the point? But it’s irritating that there are three eligible male characters in this novel and she seems to have kissed them all. Bit silly really don’t you think? I don’t know. And now I’m waffling, so I’ll move on.I must say, I raced through this novel in a day or two. Despite being slightly irritating for the reasons I’ve just mentioned, it’s highly addictive and I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen at the end. Here’s where I went a bit wrong: I thought this was a standalone novel, so when I read the ending (which I won’t reveal because that would just be cruel) I was like WHATTTT.Thankfully, after a quick check of the internet it wasn’t long before I discovered that Paige, Rainer and Jordan’s story doesn’t end in such a horrible, open-ended way. There are two more books planned for the series, and I get the feeling the second one will be better. I’m hoping that Famous in Love is almost a book designed to set the scene for the epic romance I can feel bubbling up in its pages.Have you read Famous in Love? What did you think of it? I’d love to know. Let me know in the comments section below or on Twitter.
