Great Little Camping Toaster
I saw this product reviewed highly in the Boat Galley newsletter. It received a positive review there that I highly agree with. This toaster takes little space and works very well. I use it on a gas stove that burns hot, so it was on a fairly low setting. A diffuser for the stove (which we have, but which hasn't been used with the toaster) might produce a mellower result. We are still learning how to use the toaster correctly, the results so far are either a slightly burned slice (our fault, not the toaster's) or a nicely browned slice with white stripes where the rods holding the bread are. Moving the bread more might reduce the stripes.Pros of the toaster are:--Folds very flat for easy storing.--Produces better toast than other camping type toasters we've tried. We've tried a lot.--Reasonable cost.--Handle stays cooler than expected. It never burned our hands.--Nice carrying case.Cons:--The diffusing screen that's closest to the heat is rough and not easy to clean. We like it for our own boat galley and RV. In fact, we will probably buy a second one so we don't have to switch them back and forth.

Works like a charm
The media could not be loaded. I love how compact this GSI toaster is. A great tool. I used it for the first time and got an English muffin toasted to my delight. Took a little bit to get the temp right. But on the low setting of my stove was able to rotate and flip the bread until desired color. Learning how to use different methods for tasks that used to require an electrical plug. Well made and comes with its own case. If you’re looking for THE no plug toaster stop looking. This one is for you. If you are a through hiker. Super light and flat. Works with GSI heating elements but also on a stove in an RV or off the grid living.

Very Compact Travel Toaster
I love this for its compactness and ease of cleaning. I also have a box style camp toaster that I use at home in preference to a plug-in toaster, but this one is better for trips. It is not quite as good at toasting than the box one, and it only makes one slice of toast easily, but that's all I need on trips so it's great for me. Also, it is possible to melt cheese on top of a piece of toast on this device, as with a toaster oven. I really like toast, and I can't have even a little wheat, and wheatless bread really needs toasting to be tasty, so it's worth packing my own toaster when I know I'll have access to a heat source.Note that you need to calibrate the toaster for your stove, to figure out the right temperature and the time it needs to toast without burning. It requires attention and/or a timer once you've figured it out. I have not ruined any toast on it, but I have charred the edges while calibrating it. If you want your toast to be perfectly even, this is not the toaster for you. This is for good-enough toast using minimal packing space.I have only tried this toaster on gas stoves; I'll give it a try when I get access to an electric stove and see if it works as well, and next time I go camping I'll take it.One star off because there are a few sharp bits that could have been machined better; be cautious when folding/unfolding it. But it has held up to the light use I've given it so far.

FANTASTIC CAMPING GADGET!
I’ve purchased many things on Amazon but never written a review. I MUST RAVE ABOUT THIS TOASTER! It’s a genius design and works like a charm. Faster and better than my toaster at home. Just keep your eye on it and turn the bread once or twice and VOILA! In fact, I rarely eat toast for breakfast at home but I always do when I camp just so I can use this cool gadget. Thank you-Thank you!

Great compact functional
Using in rv where counter space is limited. Toasts perfectly. Common sense use and you’ll get perfect results, move ur toast or bread around and flip. Can be done with bare hands. That’s all I do and it packs away neatly at stove side. Don’t expect a toaster that u can walk away from. It’s an active process but quick. Well designed and completely fits my need.

Absolutely brilliant little toaster
Works better than my toaster at home if you keep an eye out on the toast. Very fast toasting, but you need to watch, as the toast gets hot quickly. Very pleased with this little item for camping.

Perfectly toasted bread
It works great to toast bread over my backpacking style stove while camping. The stove tends to have one very hot spot, but the screen on the bottom of the toaster helps compensate for that and spread the heat.

packs a lot better than the old four slide circles, and worked fine on micro stoves
Great size for Motorcycle touring. The included protective pouch keeps it from being damaged in Givi hard cases. The case can also hold a ziplock bag of cone style coffee filters to help complete your breakfast needs. I've only used the stove one morning and achieved decent results with everything against me.The size of this appears perfect for most sliced bread. Large loafs would probably overhang, and the tiny loaf I bought in VT was too small to work perfectly. I suspect a full slice would would toast move evenly than my tiny slices did. I could easily fit two slices on the toaster so you know that heat leaked by on all sides. I also used one of the new micro sized Iso/Butane/Propane mixed stoves with a very small burner head and pot rack. Even with the handicap I was able to toast well by moving the bread around. I set the stove heat as low as it would go and balanced the toaster well enough to be able to move the tiny toast around.I didn't realize how nice it was to be able to toast when motorcycle touring until a friend new to it brought a four slice toaster on our 10 day trip. We used it a lot and it made me want an easier to pack variation. I feel this is slightly more work than the four slice toaster to use, but it worked on the tiny stove and packs much better. It cooled very quickly once we finished with it. It can be quickly packed away so you can get on with your daily activities.
