Terry Border's "Bent Objects" borders on bending reality
Suffice it to say that this is one of the more original art forms to come along in a long time. First, one must say that Border shoots positively lovely still life photos--with simplicity, precision and great lighting. So it's a suitable coffee table book! It would be enough if his quirky food-formed "clay-mation" still life shots were simply funny. They are.(And they are made even funnier, sometimes, by the titles he gives them). But they are not just photos, they are "captioned photo art cartoon humor". But separate from the humor, they stand alone as good photography. Every single character is one so life-like that you would not be surprised to see it get up off the couch and walk out of the room. They are food-drawn cartoons. Let's just say he has a seriously bent mind. But one you'll like. (And since he lives in my hometown, I am hoping to bump into him--once I determine first that he's not as weird as he just might be!)

Why can't I be this creative?
Should be the question running through one's mind when reading or more correctly, seeing this book. Terry Border is doing some amazing things with cheese puffs, cacti, and paper clips among other things. This book is perfect for any moment of semi unhappiness. The photography is pretty straight forward and simple, the magic lies in the sculptures he makes using everyday things to convey ackward moments of inadequancy in so many social situations. Who hasn't felt out of place at a fancy party from time to time, like a cheese puff at a tapas party? Or wondered why a beautiful girl is with such a loser ala a rose mating with a cactus? I wish I would have picked it up sooner, it lives in my car right now ready to be pulled out at any occasion.

Super Creative, Witty--- Wow
I became aware of Terry Border's work last week through an email someone forwarded. After viewing a few examples of his work I absolutely knew I HAD to get his book. Ordered through Amazon w/free super ship and received it today. Tears ran down my face as I turned the pages. This guy is talented. Way creative and I hope he has many more books in his future. The book itself is printed on colorful, great quality stock + is hardcover. You rock Terry. Thanks for the laughs and I can't wait to share with friends + family.

Not all pictures; lots of text, too.
I love this guy's work. But I thought the book would be more pictures and less text. There is quite a bit of text describing the thoughts and work that went into each staged photo. Probably good for artists; not so good for someone just wanting to enjoy more photos.

Not really a story book
Thought this book would be more like the author's other story books geared for kids. I bought it for my son because we like the other books, but this one seems more for adults and there's not really a story to it. Cute, but I wouldn't have bought it if I had known.

Great tabletop book
I keep this in my office at work and people love flipping through it while they wait for me to get to a stopping point to help them with whatever reporting needs they may require.

Witty and intelligent
I've been following Terry's blog for a few years, so have seen many of these images before, but there were some nice surprises in here even for me. Bought it as a christmas present, for someone who has never heard of bent objects. I makes a fab coffee table or toilet book for visitors to flick through. Also it has a few pages at the back that show you how to make your own bent objects if you're inspired.

Hilarious
I was already familiar with the blog, but this is a fantastic book to have to hand for idle moments. This is what coffee-table books should be about - something offbeat, wickedly twisted without being offensive, and absolutely hilarious! It also goes quite nicely with Cake Wrecks - which is a bit more hit-and-miss, but has the same laugh-out-loud quality to some of its features.

Five Stars
Oh man this is so worth buying - it is such a laugh to go through!

Absolut Klasse!

Love it!
Hilarious. Right up my alley of twisted humour. I had borrowed this book from our local library and I laughed so hard I had to buy a couple copies for myself and for my best friend. If you love puns and darkish humour, this is for you. I hope the author is working on a part two.
