Death Row's Greatest Hits - The Chronicles

The Deep Cover soundtrack apparently is not offered on iTunes nor any of the tracks from that great soundtrack. I had been looking for One Eight Seven and also an original version of Natural Born Killaz for a while so for both of them to pop up on this CD was a bonus. Excellent album back when rap served a purpose. Although I have to admit it made me feel really old going through the reviews of this CD and someone put that they bought this as a gift for their Dad and he really enjoyed it.

Overall, a very solid collection of songs to remember Dr Dre's Death Row era, though it does not include every single Dre hit from those days because of copyrights. One disappointment however is track #1, 'One Eight Seven'. I thought this was the version from the Deep Cover soundtrack but it is not. If you're buying this album with the perk of getting that song via not being available to purchase via digital, this hits compilation will let you down on that front, FYI.
