Nepal Hand Knit Sherpa Hat with Ear Flaps, Trapper Ski Heavy Wool Fleeced Lined Cap

I live in a cold climate and have searched for many years for a hat that is warm, stylish and comfortable. This hat ticks all the boxes. Having a big noggin, it's hard to find a hat that's not too tight - The XL is a perfect fit even with a large ponytail. The polar fleece lining is soft and snuggly and pulled down it covers your forehead and back of the neck as well as the ears. The wool outer covering makes this hat exceptionally warm. I'm obsessed with this hat and ordering several other colors. Highly recommend! Beautifully made, I get compliments everywhere I go and my head has never been warmer!

This winter hat is well worth the money! It's very well made, with thick wool and a soft, thermal lining. The straps and ear flaps work. Hat is Super Warm down to very cold temperatures and good to use by itself from about 5 degrees F to about 40 F. It has a very small amount of stretch. This is a very good investment unless you have moths or accidentally toss it the in the dryer. I wish the other colors were still available. Buy this before it's gone because it's not easy to find a similar hat anywhere.

I love to be outside, even when it’s cold. I have a few knit hats, but when the wind blows, they are pretty useless as that cold air does right through. I got the hat yesterday and got to try it out at 38 F, under 10 mph winds. It is very warm because of the liner. The shape is perfect because I can have my ears covered without the hat trying to cover my eyes, as my other knit hats do. My ears are nice and warm. The hat seems well made, and it is really cute. My husband even commented, which is not typical for him. I got the red, and two other colors are still in delivery. The hat was very snug the first time I put it on: VERY snug. I do not have a gigantic noggin, so I was annoyed. I thought the sewn in liner would disallow stretching, but I spent a few seconds just working it gently and the fit improved. I would still like just a tad looser, but I’m not worried about it. I have an average size skull for a female, so if you know you wear a large hat size, this might be a problem for you. Love the hat!

Fit is good, not too tight, but not loose. Like the colors and it seems to be a great quality. It does sit low in my forehead, but not blocking my eyes, and is a departure from my usual fur lined styles. A nice addition to my .... it super cold and wind, hat selection.

I live in California, where winters are milder, but my Victorian flat is uninsulated and unheated. On sunny days, this is no problem, as my flat has many south-facing bay windows to make it comfortably warm. On overcast or rainy days, however, it can be quite chilly, especially if there's a cold wind blowing. I therefore layer warm clothes on my body, but I also want to keep heat from escaping via my head (one of its old tricks). I had therefore taken to wearing a fleece hat, but I found that my ears remained cold (despite my long hair). The solution? This Sherpa hat, of course! I am absolutely delighted with it! It's got some room on the top to trap warm air, and the wool outer and the fleece lining make it deliciously snuggly warm. (If I didn't have a fleece hoodie to sleep in, I might wear it to bed!) A comment on the sizing: I think my head size is about a 7-7 1/4. This Sherpa fits with plenty of wiggle room, but I find that it doesn't let cold air in; I think its weight prevents that. It does come down to my eyebrows, but as long as I can see that's no problem. This is a keeper!

I love this hat! Reasons 1, 2, and 3 are that it is WARM, WARM, WARM. 4. I am a him/he with a 23.5 inch noggin and the XL size fits perfect. Since there is some "give" to all woven products I'm sure there is a range of smaller/larger head sizes that this would fit. 5. Unlike conventional stocking caps this one doesn't creep down over your eyes when you pull it down to keep your ears warm since it has earflaps. 6. You can wear a hood over it (for extra moisture protection for example) and there is no "pom-pom" to interfere but the tassel looks great when you don't have a hood on. 7. It is comfortable. 8. Did I mention that it is100% wool and really WARM?

Ok, I picked this up at the Amazon Hub today and I am already in love with it. It is warm as toast and with the freezing Michigan temps it is much appreciated. Fits just snug enough to be comfortable. The ear flaps keep the wind from getting in. The quality is outstanding, it is SO well made. My hat arrived with THE NICEST smell. I know it sounds weird but it’s true. It like I bought it in person at an open air market. I had another hat just like this one that I bought locally. After many years it started giving out. (The lining was ripping, I guess I could have tried fixing it) I decided to just treat myself to a new one and boy, I’m glad I did. Well worth the price. Five Fantastic Stars on this one.
