Slofoodgroup Salt Flakes, Large Flake Sea Salt From Greece, Finishing Salt, Cooking Salt and More (16 oz)

Slofoodgroup's Sea Salt Flakes are amazing! I've been wanting to try Sea Salt Flakes for a while now and couldn't decide which one to try. I researched and read a lot about several different brands but just kept coming back to this one. I didn't like that this brand came in plastic instead of glass, however, I don't always have good luck with items that are shipped in glass. So, I didn't allow that to be my deciding factor. I also really liked the way another company harvested their salt, and I have no real way of knowing how this company harvests their salt. Still, I kept feeling a pull back to this company. What I did like that it was from Greece, natural, and Kosher. I assumed it had to meet some strict standards to be Kosher certified. Also, when I looked at the size of the flakes, they were huge and some even looked like small pyramids. They really looked impressive. I knew they would give my homemade chocolate candy the ideal finishing touch. But, when I received the bottle and tasted the salt, I knew without a doubt I had made the right choice! The flavor blew me away. It is the best quality salt I have ever tasted, and the price was so reasonable. If you are looking for a finishing salt or flaked salt for your dark chocolate candies, I can't recommend this flaked salt enough. It's delicious and very reasonably priced. I found my favorite brand on the first try. No need to try others.

Surprised how strong the salt flavor is, since they are sea salt… was expecting milder. Great big flakes though, and now that I know the intensity, I’ll be more successful using them. Made a beautiful Foccacia bread with them… zoom into the photo to see the big flakes!

Just started using them. Had heard they were great for cooking and yes they are. A little goes a long way.

Excellent. Exactly as I’d hoped. It came in a screw top plastic jar with a metal lid. I had other Greek salt that came from a set and I didn’t know how much the container held. I was trying to figure out how much to order, and looked in my spice pantry to try to get an idea of how big a container would be for each amount offered. I decided on the 8 oz and have included photos so that you can judge for yourself, if you’re trying to figure it out. I took pictures next to a standard 12oz soda can to help compare the size of the jar.
