Heats evenly. I used it to cook a steak on the grill and was very pleased with the crust afterwards.

I gave this skillet a 4star because even though it is preseason, it tends to rust if you don't make sure all the moisture is off the skillet before storing. I usually dry it well, but it still will have rust markings on it. Probably will be fine after several uses.

Keeps our steaks warm and easy to transport to dinner table.

I thought the pan area was 17", however, that length includes the handle. I was searching for an extra large fajita platter. For family size, this is personal size. Anyway, it's a beautiful item, just too small. So I will likely return it.

I just ordered a 12 inch skillet for the stove but then I saw this one for 17 inches so I ordered it too so I could use it for taco, fajita, or pizza nights or cook on the grill. I was so disappointed to pull it out the box & see that it is NOT 17inches of cook space, they included the long a$$ handle as apart of the 17inches but REALLY it is only about 8inches long & 4 inches wide. You could not even fit a personal size pizza on this.

This product was supposed to be already cured. It was not cured. Also the wooden rest was badly warped and split as if it had been in water . Had to throw this part away. The skillet looked good other than not being precured.
