Hands down the BEST pliers for wire work I have ever had.
Most of the nylon tipped pliers for wire work are fat tipped, hard to maneuver into small spaces and hard to use with smaller jump rings. Not these pliers! These are the only pliers that I have ever found that have a true long nose and even better - have ridges on the nylon/plastic that allow you to actually get a good grip on a slick jump ring or wire. They are well worth the price and I actually ended up buying four pairs and a bunch of the replacement tips so that I don't have to worry about not having them should one break (not likely because they are so well made) or because the tips wear out. Note: Do NOT expect these to work well on very thick, hardened wire! That is not what they are for. These are ideal for the beautifully colored copper and aluminum wires and jump rings that are used for chain mail jewelry and wire art. They will work for thinner sterling silver that is not full hard, as well as brass that is also not full hard. If you try to use them with full hard wire, thick hardened wire or memory wire, you will ruin them quickly. So if you choose to do that don't blame the pliers and leave a nasty review because you don't understand what the pliers are meant to be used for. I honestly get so tired of seeing one star reviews left for excellent products because the folks who buy them don't understand how the product works or what it is supposed to be used for.

Perfect kitchen pliers.
These are perfect for your kitchen. Making it easy for people with arthritis to open packaging with safety seals or just hard to pull apart plastics. Easy to clean.

Loosen without scratching
These pliers came in very handy, due to their plastic inner grips on the nose. That part works very well. I bought a new stand for my camera that contained a well-machined knurled ring nut. When you hand tighten the nut, it stays in place, but also becomes difficult to loosen. Using regular pliers will scratch the nut badly, and these pliers work as intended. There are two downsides to these pliers however. 1) The packaging was completely in Japanese, making the identification of replacement nose grips difficult. 2) They have spring loaded handles which mean they are open “spread eagle” when stored, unless you place the nose in something to keep it closed. I chose a rubber washer, which did the trick. (see photos)

Best I ever used and got a sweet deal on Amazon Prime Days this July.

"Soft-jawed" is a matter of opinion
The tool seems well built. The jaws move freely and, it does what you'd expect a pliers to do, but I got this specifically to grasp things that I didn't want to crush while manipulating. Not like eggs, but like seeds. I'd expected the jaws to be rubberized or flexible to some extent, but instead, the inner jaws are a hard plastic insert with ridges on them. So softer than steel, but still pretty hard and slippery. If that describes what you'd want, then this tool might be a good fit for you. It wasn't what I was looking for or what I needed, and not what I'd expected given the product description. I'm going to see if I can modify it to do what I want, but it's not fair to make that part of my review.

Great for not scarring up wire wheel spokes
Bought these solely for tightening the twisted Cali spoke wires on Luxor lowrider wire wheels.

No replacement pads , 😢

Durable and perfect for my needs, placing tiny stones in wet mortar and being able to adjust the position without fingers getting in the way. The plastic tips help to hold on the the smooth and slippery rock surface.

Some tools just feel 'right' and are a pleasure to use; these are a good example of that, so five stars! I like the fact that they are only as heavy as they need to be and you can therefore flex them in your hand. They are not meant for hard-work; they are meant for delicate surfaces and the flexibility in the thin handles serves to warn you just how hard you are gripping. Very sensible Tsunoda. They don't look anything special but they are precisely made with no trace of slack and no stiffness either. The resin jaw-faces are easy to remove, perhaps a little too easy. I can easily imagine losing them and, in the UK, they cost as much as a new pair of pliers - so not worth buying. I may yet glue the resin jaws in place IF (?) I can find the perfect glue. The resin is harder than I expected and does not provide much extra grip on smooth surfaces (which is really what I wanted). To give you an idea of the hardness, I can just about mark the resin with my thumb-nail. Snapping the jaws together is quite quiet and they are MUCH softer than steel but I cannot see or feel any flexibility in the resin when gripping anything hard. Perfect for polished metal/ceramic/glass surfaces but they do mark wood or, of course, anything I can mark with my thumb-nail. I am still searching for my ideal, truly soft-grip pliers but these are an excellent addition to my tool-kit and thoroughly recommended. They are my second pair of Tsunoda pliers - which must tell you something.

Tsunoda are excellent pliers (not just for the price), made in Japan. Very good quality and quality control on all the Tsunoda pliers that I have now.

These are exactly what I was looking for. I bought the extra plastic inserts just to have them. The overall mechanism is decent quality, unlike much of the import tools that are out there. Not quite German Knipex quality but pretty close.
