Peace of mind
I have used these units for a number of years. I live in an area where the water table is very high. Consequently, my pump gets quite a workout and the unit gives me peace of mind. (At times it is cycling every 10 seconds). The only thing I don’t like is that the unit is designed to keep the pump running for several seconds longer than a traditional float. When the unit needs replacement the pump will not shut off. Since I have an extremely high use situation, I have had to replace the unit every 2-3 years. If you have normal use I believe you will get several more years of use than me. I recommend this product.

Web description not accurate
I would say that it’s would work perfectly whit the sump pump without its own float. If your pump has it (like mine) this device is useless. The float of the pump is the master, doesn’t matter if this item energizes the pump. The description doesn’t mention this possible situation

plastic garbage can to empty the washer into
The floor drain in my basement which was used to empty our washing machine back flooded as a result of a broken tile.I set up a 55 gal. plastic garbage can to empty the washer into.I installed a small sump and used this float control to pump the water up into my sewer line.Works great.I didn't have to tear up the basement floor.

Well made and it works great. Glen tropics support the best. I also have several of there sump pumps. Much better units than any big box junk

This controller worked well for five years. Last night ...
This controller worked well for five years. Last night during a heavy rain it got stuck in the on position sucking air until the circuit breaker tripped. I reset the breaker and it worked for a few hours then kept running until the breaker tripped again. If I hadn't had a backup pump on a different circuit I'd be bailing water today. If the circuit breaker hadn't tripped the pump would have burnt out. I'll replace it with a regular float switch.
