Perfect to use for light seam ripping
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this to more easily manage ripping the seams on quilted pieces and it works beautifully! I do feel the suction cup could be a bit stronger but that is also why I specify that it's great for light seam ripping. The cloth on my photos is a tank top and it worked well but I would not (as one user mentioned) count on it to use for heavier fabrics or clothing like denim/ jeans.I recommend using it oriented the same way as in my video, with the ripper pointing away from you. If you turn it towards you it isn't as easy to see what's coming up, whereas turned away you can see the individual strands of threads. With the seam ends facing up so you can hold it away and to the sides, you won't snag that cloth on the bottom point of the ripper. I would suggest adding a bit of water to the suction cup in order to get it to stick. I couldn't get mine to stay without that step.Be. Very. Careful. The ripper is very sharp and can easily rip a hole into cloth. There is a protective cap that tucks away snugly underneath the level to tighten the suction cup. All in all it cut down on the time I normally would have spent dismantling the tank top and it definitely is a breeze to use on quilted squares. All in all an awesome little seam ripper!

Love it
I’ve never considered writing a review for a seam ripper but I love using this. It makes quick work of long seams. And then I use the Dritz seam fix cap to brush off leftover thread pieces. Only bummer is that it doesn’t stick to all surfaces and sometimes gets dislodged.

Save your money
I like the idea of this product, but it just doesn't work. The seam ripper part is sharp, but the whole beauty of this product was that it could be fixed on a table as you use two hands to guide seam through the cutter. Good theory, but this item would not, will not stick to any surface. I am left with a clunky seam ripper. It does NOT do what it is advertised it would do. Save your money, do not purchase this item.

Okay
Still trying to figure this thing out. From my research, I’ve been using a seam ripper incorrectly…..

An excellent aid, making a three-handed job possible with two hands.
This solves a real problem. Trying to hold and separate the two fabric sides with one hand while guiding the cutter with the other is super difficult. This device makes it very easy. You do need a smooth surface like a glass oven top for instance. I think I'll clamp a small plate of smooth metal to my sewing table. A person could make a clamp mounted version of this, but that would be more difficult than just attaching a smooth plate to the table. The plate needs to be held still, of course, while you're pushing the fabric against this tool.

i'm a pass to recommend
i really like the idea behind this design. it doesn't stick well to a table. And even if it did it's not easy to seam rip. For me to use it I have to hold it against me and pull the fabric stitches through. hopefully the design will improve.

Suction Cup Did not Attach to any Surface
I ordered this table top seam ripper because the product concept is great, makes sense, and would speed things up when taking seams apart. I wasn't too happy that the suction cup part of it didn't adhere to glass, wood, formica, granite, glass, etc. even with a little drop of water on the bottom to help it grip after a couple of failed attempts at gripping. Otherwise, it would be a handy little item to use when needed. Nice product I'm sure, if all systems are go.
