Multi-Purpose eye protection is handy to have around.
I have a big dusty yard to mow, and I have always had problems keeping the dirt and grass out of my eyes while mowing. I tried goggles, and they would fog up, and were very uncomfortable. I decided to try this face shield, since it would easily fit over my glasses, and it would keep the dirt out of my eyes, while giving me good vision to work. I have been really pleased with the results. It blocks out the dirt, while still letting me see where I'm going. The clear lens, is good and heavy, so it can take some impact with no damage. Oh it does come with a dark lens, I guess for welding, and that just screws off, but the clear shield and the adjustable head band is great. I keep it around for anything that requires dust or chips flying. One thing I discovered is that while mowing, I can wear my favorite wireless headphones with this shield, so I can block out engine noise, and listen to my tunes at the same time. Bonus! I like this shield so much, I have thought of getting another one, just in case this one gets damaged.

Awesome shield for all around metal working
Awesome shield for all around metal working. I am a welder and have been using this for a couple months now. This hood has taken some abuse and performed with zero problems. The flip down shade makes it a breeze to use. I use it alot more for grinding also, especially with cut off wheels. The coverage its gives is amazing, and it makes you feel safe. Considerably comfortable to wear for long periods of time also. Great product will recommend and buy again.

Love the multifunction!
I bought this years ago and I can see why the price has gone up. It's pretty awesome! The build quality is good. The plastic is of good quality. The hingements and fitments are all of good quality as well. It looks really cool!

Very handy, comfortable, versatile
I love this thing. I'm in the middle of a casting project doing lost wax and metal casting. I probably put this thing on 12 times a day. It's very comfortable, easy to adjust, and the flip down dark section is very handy. I use it when I'm pouring molten wax, metal. Also very handy when using the bench grinder and angle grinder. The dark section is the perfect shade for plasma cutting, when I have the plasma cutter handle partly in front of me. I find my full on welding helmet too dark to see when plasma cutting. The shade is not dark enough to use when tig or mig welding. Might be Ok for oxy/acetylene brazing - have not done any since I bought it. I've seen other reviews that suggest it is flimsy. I have not found that to be the case. Obviously you don't want to toss is around aggressively since that is liable to scratch the visor, but in normal everyday use it has held up fine. I imagine if you were using it for fighting wildfires it might need to be beefier, but I like that it is not too heavy.

It’s not just for welding anymore...
Updated June 14, 2020: I know this is off label, but I am using this for airway management/intubations, and I LOVE it! Other face shields we had been using have no padding across the forehead and dig in, making it hard to keep on for extended time periods. This shield is very comfortable. A large bouffant OR cap fits over the whole top of this to help keep it clean. An N95 mask fits easily underneath this, and a small rectangular surgical paper blue drape with adhesive can be stuck across the lower part of the face shield to cover that last vulnerable area between the bottom of the shield and the top of an isolation gown, so I finally feel remotely safe! The whole thing has mostly tolerated being wiped down after each use with sanitizing wipes, and although sometimes looks a little streaky, the polycarbonate is solid and easier to see through than our standard issue flimsy face shield OR masks. Much less glare with this shield! ***(Update: Be careful with the sanitizing wipes... after 2 months of heavy use and cleaning of mine, the anti fog coating crystallized from the sanitizing wipes, so rinse it with clear water after sanitizing... might save the coating longer. I have had to scrape off the crystallized stuff - still usable but annoying for sure!) I waited for ~4 weeks to get this one. It took over 2 months for the model without the flip-up tinted shield that I had originally ordered to arrive, but in the interim, it was easy to remove the green piece from this one, & it’s identical to the 32010 once you do. At the time, it was worth the extra money just to finally get a good shield. I have both this one and the 32010, which I gave to a colleague who needed it. If the 32010 clear face shield model is in stock, that’s all we need for protection during airway management, but this one is also great if those run out. Keep making these... lots of anesthesiologists and intensivists I know would still love to get one! Thank you for this product.

funky oversized head and glasses no problem
The ability to easily adjust the head band size and the height/depth of the shield made it easy for me to wear and use. Headband size adjustment is with a press and turn knob. The adjustment for how high or low for the shield to sit on your head was a simple push the rubber post on one strap through the hole on the second strap. Clearance for my glasses was not an issue. And the head band also did not interfere with my glasses. Enough space between the face shield and the face so it didn't fog up. Optical clarity is good with minimal distortion so it was easy to see what I was doing. Flip down #6 shade was easy to work even with a heavy glove on. And it was easy to flip up. My goggles are going into a drawer somewhere to collect dust. I don't think I can go back to the goggles ever. Time saver when you have to touch the piece on a grinder then fitting and welding. None of take the goggles off, put on a face shield grind, take face shield off, get the goggles on... routine. Far less hassle so 5 stars.

I had written a review of this face shield and thought it was not suitable for gas welding mainly because the #5 shade was not wide enough to cover the field of view but after using it a few times I realized I was wrong and there's a way of adjusting it so you can comfortably see through the #5 shade. I now believe this face shield can be a very capable shield and very comfortable to use, if you spend a few minutes and fine tune the headband adjustment. I now give it 5 stars and highly recommend it for gas welding, if I ever damage or scratch the shield(s) , I will not hesitate to order the replacement part(s) from this company, it is well made, comfortable and easy to adjust/use.

This is much better and safer than using goggles only.
