What color is crew white as opposed to the white one?

i do not own any of the white ones. i have the older ecru color. but it appears both are same color to me, just different necklines.

I’m size 14-16, i typically buy size xl, will it be a waste of time to try this? i don’t want to feel like a better sausage!

It is on the smaller side, it has a lose fit on a size small but the crochet does not stretch well
