will this fit a mossberg 935

I have it on a handi rifle and it wasn't hard to install. You have to remove the existing recoil pad first. That said, is should fir the 935 with no issues. Tip: before installing, let it sit in the sun for a little while. It becomes much more pliable and easier to slip on the stock.

Will this fit a gun that has a 4 1/2 by 1 1/2 inch stock?

It will fit the 4.5 inch but don’t know about the 1.5 inch. It’s rubber and expand pretty big but ... can say yes.

how thick is the pad ?

I am overseas at this time but the pad is very good. Its several inches thick at the shoulder and fits my marlin 30-30 perfectly. Hope this helped. I am getting another one in a smaller size for a rossi 357 that I just got.
