A Pictorial History of Lee Radziwill's Rarefied World - A Sequel to Happy Times Which Does Not Disappoint
After reading Happy Times now almost fifteen years ago, I was delighted to see this new book by Lee Radziwill. If you are looking for a serious read, or if you expect this book to be a full-fledged autobiography covering her whole life in detail, this is not the book for you. This is a pictorial autobiography, and each chapter is devoted to a different person:Friendships: Rudolf Nureyev, Giorgio Armani, Peter Beard...Family: Anthony and Tina Radziwill (children), Michael Canfield (1st husband), Prince Radziwill (2nd husband) Aristotle Onassis...The book is full of pictures and covers a world which does not exist anymore today. I enjoyed looking through the book and reminiscing about a time when people dressed up before they left the house, when artists had real talent to share and people travelled the world in style. The cover of the book is made of cloth, which makes it a nice centerpiece for any coffee table. Most of the pictures are exclusive and have not been shown anywhere else. Each chapter is accompanied by a short description and insight stories, but it doesn't feel like it is enough. I wish there was more to read, because the stories this woman could tell...

Absolutely beautiful!
I am a great Kennedy/Bouvier follower. I have invested a lot in accumulating a comprehensive library on the families. President John Kennedy was shot when I was a little girl. I read my first book on him, Death of a President, when I was in high school. I have read many books on Jackie and Lee as well. I find their story incredibly captivating and interesting. Not tabloid stories, but good books that have been written by notable authors. This book is a wonderful addition to my collection. It is a personal and elegant glimpse in to Ms. Lee's life and I feel privileged to view it. The book came to me in excellent condition, as it is a used book. This is the fifth book I have bought "used" through Amazon and have been delighted with each of them and their pristine shape. It was prepared and packed for mailing in a meticulous manner. I recommend this vendor highly. Charming, simply charming.

Not What You Thought
I think every teen-aged girl should read this book. Then imagine what it would be like to try to be your own person in an era where women were only valued for their looks and ability to marry up the social register. The photos are wonderful and Lee can write. She makes me so thankful that my daughters and granddaughters live now and not then. Thankful, too, for my warm relationship with my sisters and for having my parents, not hers. This book is a must for anyone interested in the 1940's, 50's and 60's and what it was like living prominently in the Kennedy era.

I have the first book Happy Times which I enjoying browsing through when I need a little style inspiration. This book is a great addition to happy times. Lee is a throwback to a different time when people dressed for flights and dinner and ladies wore gloves. Her books give you a small picture into a period when manners existed, pure class !!

Interesting photo essay of Lee Radziwill's life
This book is a compilation of photos and light narrative of Lee Radziwill's life. The book is slightly larger than a regular sized book. It has no jacket because the cover is a textured-type material and her photo on the cover is kind of "inserted" into a frame. I've noticed this type of cover on a few of the books I've ordered during the past 6 months. Personally, I like these types of covers - with no jacket, the book keeps a "new" look in the bookcase as well as when you're looking at it time and time again. The interior is printed on good quality paper - more thick than thin. Photo clarity quality is good also although there are pages of photo montages and those montages are not as clear. The book is separated into "people" chapters, e.g., "Prince Radziwill", "Peter Beard", "Noel Coward", etc. Unfortunately, the narrative in each chapter is one page and is always happy, cheery verbiage.I purchased this book because I just finished reading "In My Sister's Shadow" which is a bio of Lee Radziwill. And I have owned Lee's book "Happy Times" for quite some time. This book "Lee" is made in the same pattern as "Happy Times", however, this book contains all new photos that haven't been published before since they come from Lee's personal collection. On a personal level, it was so nice to see how women (and men) dressed through the decades shown in this book. Those were the days when people cared about how they presented themselves to the world and looked in a mirror - both front and back - to make sure they looked neat and polished. SO different from today's rubber flip flops, pajama bottoms, undershirts that people wear out in public now....sigh!Overall, this is photo essay peek at a celebrity's life. If you have an interest in this Bouvier sister and want to see what a wealthy lifestyle looks like, you will enjoy this book. If you already own "Happy Times" then this book "Lee" will be a welcome addition to your bookshelf.
