Super smooth, great flavor
Best tahini I’ve ever had…super smooth, great flavor, no burnt aftertaste like some brands.

THE Best Tahini
I recently started making hummus and out of the other brands of tahini I have tried, Soom is the best by far. Firstly, it is relatively smooth and does not take a concrete mixer to stir before using. The most important aspect is it does not have that burned aftertaste the other brands tend to have. This stuff has a clean, nutty taste and makes an awesome hummus. This was my first time ordering it from Amazon and I was concerned because some reviews said theirs was damaged when it was opened, so I was quite surprised/impressed when I opened the shipping box and found a really sturdy and appealing inner box which contained my 2 jars of Soom - with a lengthy shelf-life, also! Someone really put some time and creativity into designing the inner box, so the product was well-protected during shipping. ALL this to say that I will be ordering again from Amazon in the near future.

Get Soom! :)
Ahhh, tahini! I first heard about it from Ina Garten, in a hummus recipe, and struggled to find a suitable brand at the local markets. I tried some available in the international aisle, and they just seemed like mediocre peanut butter. I tried some tricks to make hummus without tahini, but that was no good, either. I was at a loss; I couldn't get the depth of flavour you can get in a restaurant, and as someone who cooks very passionately, that was very frustrating! Then, I found Soom.Soom is superior to anything else I've tasted; it's rich, smooth-bodied, pure deliciousness, and it has that distinct, nutty flavour of sesame to it, unlike many other brands I've tried. I find that just about every common supermarket option for tahini tasted too Americanized; they were often thick, somewhat sweet, and too dark, resembling some kind of toasted peanut butter. Soom has none of those issues; this is the real deal. It has strong commendations, too; Micheal Solomonov (chef and author of Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking, who's a master of hummus) is a big fan of it, and it's apparently used by many top US restaurants. After tasting it, I can certainly understand why!I prefer this 2-pack to other sizing options; unlike peanut butter, tahini doesn't keep well long-term, so you really want to buy it when you intend to use it. For best flavour, I'd recommend aiming to use it up within three weeks of ordering it, but I've kept a bottle from a 4-pack fairly acceptable by tossing it in the back of the fridge. That said, for my purposes, I think the 2-pack is plenty to use up in short order; two bottles of this size last me about 3-5 great uses of it - I make great big batches of hummus for gatherings and tahini sauces for lovely dinners and lunches; you could get more out of it by making less, I'd assume. If you're looking for a great tahini sauce, I'd like to also recommend you check out Kenji Lopez-Alt's Tahini Sauce With Garlic and Lemon Recipe over at Serious Eats. It requires a food processor to turn out properly, but it's positively magical in hummus!

Best tasting tahini I've found
I tried to make my own hummus once and couldn't believe how bitter the store-bought tahini was. Soom is so tasty, I can add it to recipes or eat it on its own.

good quality kind of oily
I know people buy this to make hummus which it's probably perfect for, haven't tried that yet. I wanted a peanut butter alternative but it's really oily and bland for that. good quality though.

Smooth and creamy with no bitter aftertaste
I like to make my own hummus so I always have tahini in the pantry. The Soom tahini paste is really nice. I appreciate that it tastes great right out of the jar ... with no bitter aftertaste that some other tahini's have. It makes for a great hummus!

Outrageously good!
I’ve been trying for years and years to get hummus just right. I had nailed the texture, but no matter what I did I couldn’t get the flavor to be like my favorite middle eastern restaurants. There was always a very slight bitterness in my homemade hummus. So I decided to splurge and buy some better tahini than I could get at my grocery store. I’ll admit I balked at this price, especially with such small jars. I can only get about three batches of hummus out of a jar with my recipe if I scrape like crazy. But the first bite wiped away any hesitation. This stuff is SERIOUSLY good. My hummus came out perfectly balanced and silky, and the tahini itself is just GOOD. It’s not bitter at all. I lick the spoon. I love it so much sometimes I just eat toast drizzled with Soom and honey. It’s pricey, but this is one instance where the investment in better ingredients actually makes a world of difference. I’ll never go back to the cheap stuff.
