Calibrating the pH meter I bought for my hydroponics monitoring was never going to be simple without some buffer solution. Rather than buy solution that goes off I bought these tablets and mixed with some distilled water. Hey presto pH4 and 7 are now my reference points. Trying again with new tablets/new water just after calibration gets me a correct reading (+/- 0.1 after leaving to stabilise) so the tablets are reliable. Also tried with straight tap and it worked just as well as distilling water is a pain.Solutions created also contain a pH sensitive colourant so one can see at a glance which solution is which.

Really easy to use. Calibrated my PH probe using 4 and 7 from this pack. Calibrated probe measures pretty much what my manual test kit says, so that’ll do me.The 7.0 tablet doesn’t dissolve too much but the instructions said this would happen so wasn’t a problem.

I never know when I'm going to need to calibrate my pH meter with pH fluids so the liquid forms aren’t quite as useful because I don’t know when I'll open the cap, find that it’s evaporated and need to wait for more fluid to come and then also have to wait to to be able to get accurate pH numbers in my aquarium again. Calibration fluids seem to also be crazy expensive for some reason too. It’s ridiculous.These tablets are nice. You just pop it in the directed amount of water and they give you a Cal liquid with a stable pH just like the pre made fluids you can buy. It’s a little annoying because you need to wait for them to dissolve but to have lots of on demand calibration fluids, it’s worth it.

I purchased a few options for making up fresh calibration solutions for my pH meter from different companies. I tried this product last and found that only the pH 7 tablet created an accurate solution. The pH 10 tablet was sort of close but I would not rely on it for calibration purposes. The pH 4 tablet solution was way off. This may be because not enough material dissolved. I waited a 1/2 hr, occasionally stirring, but it did not improve.

Some tablets where powdered from the package being crushed by the time they arrived. I'm not sure if it was a packaging or a shipping issue.Other than that small issue, the tablets worked well enough.
