Noticeable improvement in my coffee
This Keurig K-Supreme Plus Coffee Maker has made a noticeable improvement in my coffee, thanks to the multi-stream technology and the user customizable settings. So I have been using Keurig machines for my coffee for quite a few years now. Yes, a French press makes a more perfect cup of coffee but the convenience and almost instant gratification has made me a Keurig lover. When my old machine started acting wonky from time to time, I started looking at new machines. The 5 hole, multi-stream feature really stood out to me so I ordered. This is a very attractive machine with a stainless steel skin. It's compact but feels solid. I really like the clear plastic, 78oz, water reservoir with a handle for ease in refilling. I also love the controls on the top. The buttons are back lit and there is a small, LCD screen which shows your settings. You can set 3 levels of coffee strength and 3 levels of temperature, as well as 5 cup sizes (up to 12oz). You can even save up to 3 user profiles so you can brew a cup of coffee with your customized settings by touching only 2 buttons! It's also very quiet. But best of all, it punches 5 holes in the top of your K-cup, instead of just one. This really does make a big difference in the quality of your coffee! Also included was a reusable K-cup for using your own, ground coffee and a water filter holder with 2 water filters. (You cannot use older, reusable, K-cups with this machine because of the multi-stream feature.)When it arrived, the machine didn't work. I called Keurig for help and after troubleshooting, they said the machine was defective and immediately put in an order for a new machine to be sent to me. NOT a refurb - a new machine. Kuddos to Keurig's excellent, customer service department. The second machine works perfectly and we are thrilled with the improvement in our coffee. I have tried various brands of K-cups in this machine and it has no problem with any of them. If you are already a Keurig user, you will love this major upgrade with the multi-stream system.I have some concerns about how durable this machine will be based on reading reviews and my own experience with my first one being DOA so I debated about how to rate it. I decided to cautiously rate it 5 stars based on the performance, design, and excellent coffee my working machine makes but I will absolutely update this review if the machine should fail prematurely or I should begin to have any issues. And I strongly suggest using it right away so that if you have any problems, you can return it.

Make sure you register the warranty!!!!!!!
This is a very nice coffee maker. The coffee tastes good, the unit is stylish, it works nicely with reusable K-cups so you can use your own ground coffee rather than buy K-cups, and it is easy to clean. BUT BUT BUT BUT it is very very important that you register the unit for the warranty. This unit has two engineering nuances that cause it to fail every few months. One nuance is an internal thermostat that will overheat if you brew 2 cups of coffee too close together, or if you run the DESCALE cycle that requires running multiple cups of water through the brewer. Once the thermostat overheats, it will trip the power and the unit will no longer turn on.The second nuance is a light duty water pump that will clog and/or fail if you ever run the reservoir dry. This starts with the brewer delivering less and less volume and eventually getting to the point where it only brew about 1/2 oz of coffee per cycle. The product has no user serviceable parts, and Keurig does not have repair centers. When either of these "nuances" occur, you can call customer service and they will send you a new coffee maker (after you answer a battery of troubleshooting questions to verify that the unit is really dead). The product has a 1 year warranty, and the warranty is restarted on each replacement brewer. So don't expect the unit to last more than a few months, and be ready to order a free replacement from warranty service. Keep your original receipts, and make sure you register every new unit on their website as soon as you receive it.

Updated... disappointed
THIRD UPDATE: The second unit that I had bought has now died after 2 years. I think it lasted this long because it got less use, being at my office. No power whatsoever. Quit right in the middle of making a cup of coffee.SECOND UPDATE: My machine is now 16 months old, and it up and quit. No power whatsoever in the unit. We tried different outlets, but nothing. For what I paid, I expect it to live longer than this. Downgraded to one star.UPDATE: I've had this unit for 2 months now, so I feel better qualified to give an honest review. The machine is easy to use and makes good coffee. I don't have any issues with the splashing and whatever other reviewers have complained about. But I still have one gripe...The dang DESCALE alert. It's always on! I finally got the descaling solution and ran it through the machine (a VERY LENGTHY process, btw, and you have to babysit it the whole time), but did it make the alert shut off? Nope. Still flashing that DESCALE at me. So one of the functions that I have paid for--an alert telling me when to descale--is absolutely useless. Since it's constantly on, I'll never know when the machine actually needs descaling. I'll just stick to a 3-month plan, I guess... descale it every 3 months whether it needs it or not.In spite of this, I've decided to keep the 4-star rating. But only because I had bought a second unit to keep at my office, and that one does not exhibit the same problem. It's a good machine and I like the functions that work. I just hope it lasts a long time.Below is my original review-------------I just received this today and am trying to set it up. I will update my review later on once I've had the chance to use it. But I did want to post that the instructions are HIGHLY INADEQUATE. For example: "If you have a Keurig Water Filter, install it now Refer to your Water Filter Starter Kit for instructions." WHAT starter kit? There's an unmarked box containing the filter apparatus and some charcoal filters but NO INSTRUCTIONS. I had to leave the kitchen and go to my office to look it up online and watch a video. Also, there are NO INSTRUCTIONS as to how to set the 3 pre-programable buttons for 3 users. Guess I'll have to look that up too. They wasted a LOT of space in their quick start guide with photos and empty space, and they also included a guide completely in French. Why not use some of that space with some useful information?UPDATE: I made 2 cups of coffee, no problem. But the third cup... nothing. Soon the machine gives me a notice to descale. AFTER JUST 2 CUPS OF COFFEE?! We have nice soft water, so scaling has never been an issue with any other machine we owned. After pushing several buttons to get it going again, I could finally make that third cup of coffee without descaling. It turned out fine except for some grounds in the bottom of the cup.I'm hoping this was just a one-day glitch. Will keep you posted.UPDATE: I've been using this for a few days now, and it's working well and makes good coffee, so I increased from 3 to 4 stars. It still keeps showing the DESCALE indicator, but that goes away when I press the preprogrammed user button.UPDATE #2: It's been a month now, and this machine has proven to be good so far. Makes good coffee, and I love the 3 programmable buttons for different members of the family. I also love that it doesn't drip like my last 2 Keurigs did. However, I'm leaving the rating at 4 stars because of two things:(1) The "descale" light, which has been on since the beginning. I ordered the descale supplies, but there's been a delay, so I haven't been able to do anything about it. I still think the light should not be on yet.(2) The instructions are inadequate, as I said above. The coffee maker is in the kitchen, but my computer is in my room upstairs. To have to go online is inconvenient. I know everyone's doing it these days, but if you're going to include a printed instruction booklet, at least fill it with more detailed info rather than having so much white space on each page.BTW: I haven't yet tried the included pod that you can fill yourself, so I can't comment on that.
