Much larger than pictured.
These are lovely flowers and the bees, hummingbirds and butterflies do love them. They grew well in the heat of the summer. They are very pretty and a vibrant red.Just be aware that the photo shown for this item makes the plants look like they may be 8 inches tall, the description correctly says they are 2 to 3 feet tall. I really have to be sure to read descriptions. I planted these as a border plant and ended up with a screen of them around the garden. You will probably have to deadhead them. After they flower the spikes become spikes of seed pods.

Great seeds, lovely plants
Tons of seeds. Very high rate of germination, pretty sure every single seed came up, I planted about two dozen. Waiting for flowering now.Edit:July 2 2021. These plants were planted almost exactly 3 months ago. See first photo. Starting to get bushy now, still have some growing to do. Very happy with them.Edit Oct 1 2021. Added 2nd picture. They have grown tall, thick and healthy. If you have lower light they won’t grow as fast as these did. I have some that were in a shady area that still look healthy, but are much smaller. These in the photo have full sun for most of the day.

Great for hummingbirds and butterflies
I planted these to fill in a newly-planted hummingbird garden since the native plants I put in the garden take a while to develop. They grew very well, Add a nice pop of bright red color to the area, and—most importantly—the hummingbirds would often visit them (tasting one bloom after another). Later in the summer/early fall, cloudless sulphur butterflies have been regular visitors (I’d never noticed them in my yard before, and I have many butterfly-friendly plants).

Poor germination rate
I've been gardening for the past 12 years and so I'm not a novice. These seeds had a very low germination rate and success rate in growing.
