The two most precious and typical products of the Monti Sibillini area are used together to make an amazing sauce, combining perfectly the two flavors - pink apple & truffle. La Mela Rosa' (Pink Apple) is a variety of apple located in the foothills of the Monti Sibillini. It was described by Quinto Orazio Flacco in 65 AD. This apple has an high resistance to diseases and insects, due to this particular location, to the local environment and climate as well as the genetic characteristics. It is protected by 'Slow food Presidium'. There is not another "Pink Apples" jam protected by Slow Food Presidium. Complements cheeses perfectly.Le Spiazzette is a place in Marche, Italy where time has stood still. It is an old farm owned by the Gravucci family from the start of 1900. Massimo Gravucci recently decided to produce jams using traditional recipes of the family. Here you will rediscover the traditional tastes and flavors of the fruits that may have been forgotten. 'La Mela Rosa' (Pink Apple) dei Monti Sibillini, the 'Cilegia Corniola' (Cornelian Cherry) and the 'Prugnolo Selvatico' (Wild Blackthorn or Sloe) are again being enjoyed by the jams and compotes that Le Spazzette makes They collect by hand the fruits from the trees and bushes that grow around their orchards. This ethical choice is more time consuming and difficult, but the result is well worth it! The name 'Le Spiazzette' derives from the famous legend telling of the Sibille fairies who came down from the mountains to dance with the local youth. Together they danced in the fields and with their dancing they created 'gli spiazzi' - piccola piazza - (small squares).
