Great addition to any home chefs arsenal
I purchased this as a replacement to my older breville. I was reluctant since I knew the breville was a good oven, and I knew Calphalon make great pans and pots, but wasnt sure about it as a toaster oven. My main reason was the french doors and interior light which the breville didnt have. After hacing it for 2 years all I can say is WOW! I have made biscuits, pork chops, chicken, cornbread, reheating frozen pizza and so on. It is rated as the #1 oven for correct heat ...350 degrees is exactly that. I do have an issue with having to press start after it reaches the preset temp, but thats okay. Putting something in before it reaches the temp would cause the food to overcook. As far as consistency goes... I can set the heat for 350 and 16 minutes and put pillsbury bsicuts in and when doen and shut off, they are perfect each and everytime... thats how i know its consisten.. and I can trust it... I am NOT impressed with its air fryer capabilities. DON't buy it for that reason., It's mostly a turbo function, but not a true air fryer.. I bought seperate fan driven air fryer with a top element for that. Otherwise Its a great little oven.. I cant remember the last time I put anything in my 5 burner Whilrpool Convection self cleaning oven... In fact. this and my table top Induction cooktop have virtually replaced it. Buy it, you wont regret it. PS the breville oven top cutting board fits perfectly and allows you to use the top for storage as you can see in the photo.

Yes! This is the one!🥰
Aahhh, you are struggling to find a replacement toaster convection oven. Well, this review is just for you. I have been a personal chef for 18 years. I have entertained numerous parties and get togethers, and I must admit, this French door Calphalon is a great friend. I'm an actual verified customer and have no sponsor or paid by anyone for this review. I have no complaints whatsoever about this oven. There's an earlier review about a smell from the oven when first used, well, that's just plain silly, there was no noticeable smell...."It's a brand new oven, you Ninny! My family has fallen in love with our "Cally" (short for, you guessed it, Calphalon). This is a very well made and sturdy little toaster oven that has convection (+turbo). She is compact and fits perfectly under any cabinet. Mind you now, she is a touch smaller than the big boys. Her working rack area is 12" across and 10" deep. There are protective shields that give adequate protection to the heating elements. "Cally" came with one rack, a toaster pan, and an air fryer rack ( Yes, she can air fry and dehydrate food.) There are only two rack slots available, but that's Cally's unique qualities. Go ahead and add a cheaper larger toaster convection oven to your kitchen, but you'll never have the experience of this little toaster convection oven that has all of the latest digital features of a big oven, and that "she" comes with a big heart. Did I mention the French doors which open with just one door pulled? How posh is that? Enjoy! Oh, P.S. This oven comes very well packed for her shipping to you.

Inconsistent heat but kept it, check updates
I’ve had this toaster air fryer combo for a few days now. I spent the first day trying to burn off the oil and that odd smell you notice when it is brand new. The smell has not really faded at all. We tried cooking a pizza and the smell of finishing oil from the factory is still there. Also the heating element that is suppose to be better is oddly inconsistent. We ended up putting the pizza in our oven to finish. I cooked chicken tenders for my kids this afternoon for lunch and some were burned and other were soggy. Just inconsistent with our initial tests on this calphalon. Aesthetically it looks great. So much so we left it on the counter in our butlers pantry. There were no dings or blemishes, so that’s a plus. We will keep trying other foods to try to get a better feel for how this cooks but so far not too impressed. Update 11/23/20: after a few more days w/ this air fryer toaster oven we’ve worked out some quirks and figured out better cooking times. After our initial negative experience with under cooked pizza or burned chicken tenders we ordered another toaster oven to compare. The calphalon outperformed the other “fancy” name brand air fryer toaster oven. There are still some things we have to adjust to but in comparison it’s not so bad. We looked at the seal on the door and noticed a huge difference. The calphalon has a rubber seal around the door much like what you will see on a standard oven. The heat does stay inside this unit better than the other. Also, the convection feature is much more quieter and gets up to speed quicker. On top of that the heating elements are covered limiting crumbs or drippings from causing a burning smell. The downfalls are few. The calphalon comes w/ fewer accessories and features but none that limit the overall performance. No pizza pan or meat probe included. Also the door handle is a fingerprint magnet. We are still dealing with the factory oil smell but hope that will dissipate with more use. Read some complaints about the unit getting hot but what do you expect, it’s a toaster oven that does not advertise a cool touch feature. As of right now we are on the fence about keeping it or processing a return. This is aesthetically beautiful but functionally odd in some conditions. UPDATE 4/28/21: we kept the calphalon toaster oven and really love it. We noticed that once the factory oil smelled disappeared the cook times and evenness of the heat became “normal” or what we would expect. That process took maybe 2 weeks to run its course and everything was easy after that. I’m not sure if it was just our particular unit that had more factory oil or if it was something else but the difference in performance between when we first purchased it to now is absolutely night and day. The calphalon does nearly everything our kitchen aid oven can do minus cooking a turkey for thanksgiving but quick lunches or even small dinners can be had fairly quick w/ amazing results. Cleaning and general upkeep is super easy. I would definitely recommend this toaster oven!

Fabulous air fryer/toaster oven
I had been researching for a good airfryer/oven for a while and kept debating between a Breville and the Cuisinart. Then, I saw this french door one from Calphalon and loved the look of it. I read other reviews that were quite good so decided to finally bite the bullet and purchase it. I have had it for about a month or so now and love it. It's so so easy to clean and looks as good as I thought it would. It's not huge but fits a good amount of food when you want. I only wish it came with more instructions and recipe ideas. Some of what I do it trial and error. So far, all has worked out well. (My favorite part is how quickly it preheats compared to my full oven. That is a big time saver.

Burnt Toast
The oven looks great! And I was very excited to try it out after being disappointed by a couple other very popular toaster ovens. This is not a complete review, but just my initial thoughts on using the oven for the past few weeks. I've got a couple gripes about this oven that will most likely end in me returning it. But I have a call scheduled with the manufacturer this morning to see if my issues with the oven can be resolved. 1. The cook timer does not auto start after the oven is preheated. So when you put your food item in the oven, select the proper function, and then press the start button, the oven begins it's pre-heat. The preheat may take another 5-10min, at which time you have to return to the oven and press the start button again to actually start the cook timer. I would expect the oven auto start the timer after pre-heating is complete so that you don't have to come back to the oven after it preheats. This would also help avoid burning your food if you don't know or forget that you have to press the start button again once the oven is preheated. I feel like this is a safety risk as the food item could be burned up in the oven and potentially lead to a fire. 2. The "Toaster" function cannot be adequately adjusted. You can only pick a "Shade" level. You cannot precisely pick the amount of time you want to toast. So for example, the "Shade" level 3 barely toasts the bread...it toasts for 3.5min. You can hardly tell it is toasted. If you select "Shade" 4, it toasts for 6.5min and burns the bread. And there is no in between setting for this. I can't adjust the time other than going to the next shade level. So if you want medium toast, your screwed. Interestingly, going from "Shade" 2 to 3 or 4 to 5 only adds a minute or less of toasting time. Why going from level 3 to 4 adds a whole 3min I do not understand....I am no toast engineer, ha! I have included pictures for a level 3 and 4 "Shade" of toast....level 3 is barely toasted and level 4 is completely burnt toast. I do hope this can be resolved. 3. I have tested the "Air Fry" setting on some French fries and tater tots, neither seemed to cook any differently than just baking them. I am new to Air Fryers and that setting I feel may just be another marketing gimmick. But I may be doing it wrong, but I did follow the instructions. The convection air fan that is used for the Air Fry function does make a noise that makes me feel that the fan may be bad...it is not a smooth sounding fan if that makes sense. Like I said, I have a call with the manufacturer this morning. We'll see if they call me and are able to provide a resolution. ****Review Update**** 11/23/20: Customer Service never called at the time we scheduled. I had to email them and let them know to call about my issues with the oven. They called the next day....no big deal, but. After discussing my issues with the oven, the customer support representative told me the behavior I was experiencing was not normal and that she would send me a replacement oven. I received the new oven today, excitedly opened the box, eager to test it out again, only to find that it is the wrong model(picture attached). They sent the model that does not have the air fry function!...ha! After reading that at least one other customer has experienced similar issues to what I experienced, I'm thinking that my experience was not just a fluke experience. It seems it may be a design/engineering issue. I'll be returning this oven and cancelling the order. We are very disappointed, my wife and I loved the look of this oven....but more importantly it's got to function properly. ****Review Update**** 11/24/20: I just finished a phone call with Calphalon Support, explaining that they sent the wrong replacement toaster oven to replace the one I have already sent back that was having the issues. While the gentleman I was talking to was very nice, it took 55min to get them to email me a pre-paid shipping label to send the wrong one back to them, and to convince them to send the correct one. They wanted to first receive back the one they shipped in error before sending me the correct one. I explained that is unacceptable as they are the ones that sent the wrong toaster oven to begin with. The gentleman I worked with on the phone said he had to convince his supervisor that they should send the correct model without delay. They ended up processing a new order for the correct toaster oven with the air-fry function and said that it should be delivered within 5-8 days. I'll have to wait and see if the replacement oven exhibits the same behavior...but my guess is that it will.

Oven is well built & sturdy - Problem with Broil function
Love the color, functions, and sturdy door, accessories and ease of use. Unfortunately the toast and Broil functions need some program updates. The toast times are too long, and not adjustable! Level 4 at 6.5 minutes is burnt and Level 3 at 3.5 minutes is not long enough for an English Muffin. All of the presets reached 425 or 450 degrees F, except for Broil. The Broil function never went off of PRE-HEAT. We waited over 45 minutes to cook a steak, and it never reached 425 Degrees. I used a Digital probe thermometer, and Internal oven thermometer, the Broil function never reached over 400 Degrees. All other functions, including Air-Fry reached over 450 Degrees, but took over 20 minutes to get there. I contacted Calphalon 3-days after my purchase, and they informed me that the Broil Pre-Heat issue was a know bug in the timer, and that I should return the oven. I was very disappointed. I am trying another oven, and will update my review after testing.

Great air fryer oven
We bought this as a gift for my in-laws for Christmas. We have a different brand, but similar one, and I really liked the size of this one. It has several settings, is a great quality, and is easy to use. I know it's something little, but I especially like the feel of the silicone backed handled on the front. This is perfect for the two of them.

Works fine but has annoying things about it
Works well and handles baking and toasting and air frying very well. But it has too many annoying quirks for me to recommend it. For one the rails on the inside where you slide in the air fryer and oven racks is too wide and so the racks have too Much give. When you pull them out halfway or more they droop down a lot and whatever u got on them may slide out toward you. The handle comes out from the door too far and so the door doesn’t open all the way down to be level with the counter, since the handle contacts the countertop and the door can’t get open 90 degrees. Maybe 80ish degrees. Annoying. The dial has a nice tactile click with every turn, but it takes two clicks to change a single unit for the time or temperature settings which is odd and counter intuitive. The gasket around the door constantly comes loose at the two ends near the hinge of the door (at the bottom) and that creates a poor seal when closing the door. You have to fiddle with the gasket to re-seat it. When something is done it beeps a few times and then stops. Hard to hear especially across the house. My old unit beeped until you got to it. Annoying. For such a good brand I’m disappointed in this air fryer and will avoid it when I finally replace this guy. Calphalon is a much better brand than this. Too bad.
