Calabrian Chili Powder, Sweet & MILD, Shaker, 350 gm (12.3 oz) All Natural, Non-GMO, Product of Italy

As advertised sweet and mild (and delicious). If you need a mild chili powder for your family that can't handle "hot", this is a great choice. You get a nice chili flavor with relatively no heat. It's not a dark roasted chile so there's no smokiness, but that's to be expected. It's very useful for many dishes where you want to add pepper flavor without spiciness. I added some to some spaghetti sauce I made today. It's amazing! I just put a teaspoon in and that's all it took to add to add a nice twist to the tomato. The container has a shaker cap which is actually useful. It doesn't seal that well so I will probably transfer this to a Mason jar with a gray plastic lid to maintain freshness, that or transfer it into a small shaker bottle and vacuum seal the the rest for basement pantry storage. I imagine if you used this pepper frequently the large cap probably won't be an issue. This a high quality pepper product, you won't be disappointed.

I am not a lover of hot, spicy food. This chili provides a nice mild flavor without bringing the heat.

I ordered this to try and make a copycat recipe of Longhornsteakhouse crispy Brussels sprouts. Who knew brussels sprouts could be so delicious? After trying them on Monday, I placed my order for this spice on Tuesday and it was delivered today ( Wednesday). I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the jar. This will last a very long time. I am sure to find many more uses other than brussels sprouts. It has a nice smokey flavor. It's the color of smoked paprika. I am already thinking of Chili and seasoning on some chicken. I am not quite sure yet where I will store such a giant bottle. I have about 150 to 175 bottles of spices. And yet I needed this one as well lol I found a copycat recipe that called for a similar spice. The one on the blog had a link to Amazon but the actual spice she used is no longer sold. I searched Amazon for Calabrian spice and found this one. It also comes in "Hot", I love hot and spicey but my family does not, so I picked the "Sweet" version. I will be making the crispy Brussels sprouts for ThankGiving and hopefully, they will be a close match to the Longhorns recipe.

After researching Calabrian peppers, I was expecting a spicy, yet sweet pepper powder, since Calabrian peppers are reported to have more heat than jalapenos. This pepper powder has no "heat" at all. It does smell and taste like a very rich, sweet paprika. I went ahead and used it in a Calabrian dry-cured pork tenderloin recipe. Which is OK, because my wife is not a fan of of anything too spicy. Still, I would have liked to follow the original recipe on my first attempt rather than substituting something like cayenne. It's a large jar and I'm sure I'll be using it in my homemade pork butt rub -- it's certainly not going to go to waste!

This is NOT a hot and spicy powder. It is sweet, mild and very flavorful. Used it to make sweet Italian Sausage and it came out delicious!

I had a Brussels sprouts side dish at Longhorn Steakhouse recently. It was wonderful. A sauce that was sweet with a small kick to it. I found a copycat recipe for the Longhorn Steakhouse recipe and then started to look for this spice. If you decide to try it, I really think you should only use this spice. I tried it out on some friends of ours from Canada. They both loved it too. I also used my air fryer instead of flash frying the steamed brussels sprouts. The only bad thing is the size of the jar. So, I now have to find other recipes to use it in and give away some to everyone that wants to try this recipe.

Bought this again was so very satisfied with this seasoning. It's got such a wonderful flavor. I initially brought it to cure meat and it was perfect for that application, but included in my regular seasonings and it was a game changer. Highly recommend!

I never got to use this product, but was looking forward to it. The container seems cheap and the packing was inadequate. It arrived in an unusable condition.
