Very well made. Heavy. Handle fits hand nicely. Keep in mind, this is 8.25 inches long and is too big to fit into a standard 10" cast iron skillet. I didn't think about that before ordering.😅

I bought this primarily for bacon, and have tried it for a few other things - steak, burgers, etc. Turns out that bacon is where it's weakest. Pros: - Nice heft, has no trouble keeping a thick steak in contact with the grill/pan surface. - Big enough to cover most cuts of meat, sandwiches, etc. - Good pre-seasoning, cleans with just hot water as long as you don't abuse it. - Wooden handle doesn't seem to get too hot. Cons: - Not quite big enough to cover average-sized bacon. I use a square griddle pan, which fits 3 or 4 slices of bacon with room to spare, but even if I clump 3 slices all together, the press is neither long enough nor wide enough to cover them all. - The cast iron does not get that hot when it's on top of a thick cut, but with anything thin, like bacon, it gets very hot, very fast. This can be a problem because only the top handle is insulated - not the sides. The handle is also just a bit too low, in my opinion. It's easy to accidentally graze the top, and extremely easy to instinctively try to grip one of the sides with your thumb, burning yourself in either case. You really have to be very careful or just use an oven mitt. It seems like almost every bacon press is designed this way, but that doesn't make it a safe design. I still like it and use it almost every day, and would recommend it if you plan to be grilling or pan-frying many different foods. However, if you came here looking specifically for a "bacon press", then you'd be well advised to get something larger and with a higher handle height.

Heavy, sturdy, and well seasoned. I paired this with a cast iron grill pan and it works great.
