Amazing design and quality!
I don't write many reviews, but this product deserves one. This is one of the best designed, best made home products I have ever bought. I was looking for a way to lift my 120 lb EZcarlift off the garage floor and store it above the car when not in use. At first I considered designing something myself, then I studied all the bike lift-type hoists. My own design would have taken some trial and error, and the bike-type lifts did not seem substantial enough for what I wanted to do. I saw that this system had a capacity of 300 lbs and could be raised and lowered by crank or cordless drill. $200 seemed like a fair price. I also liked that it had a safety lock-out.I just finished installing it, and I could not be happier with it. The packaging and instructions are excellent. It even includes all the tools you need, except for a drill, drill bits, and a stud finder. The fit and finish are the best they can be. The cables are even plastic coated. Follow the instructions carefully, don't rush, and you can do it yourself with some intermediate mechanical skills. My garage trusses were 19" apart. The product requires installation into ceiling joists 16" on center. I found some heavy duty 12 gauge galvanized "channel strut" at the local home improvement store. I cut a 10 ft. piece in half and mounted the two 60" long pieces of strut onto the ceiling exactly 48" apart, perpendicular to my ceiling trusses, with four 2" x 1/2" lag screws each (3/8" would have been a better choice). The struts are there to stay! Nice thing about the channel struts is that, with the addition of 12 channel strut 1/4" spring nuts, they created the perfect mounting system for the lift itself. The lift went up easily once the struts were in place. The sliding spring nuts allowed me to square everything up perfectly before cinching it all in place.I did not use the metal platform included with the lift, but I'll save it for later. I added a safety hook to each cable in place of the eyebolts included, and it works like a charm. Looking forward to using this to get my car lift up out of the way. Thanks for a great product!

Great tool to unlock my garage’s storage potential.
I enjoy this product’s design and sturdiness. Has amazing storage capacity for things that are very bulky but I need frequent access to, such as lawn mower and 5 gallon tubs of paint. Not very easy to install, but managed to do by myself. Love the drill function, it would be a useless product to manually have to crank it up and down each time; that takes way too long! Gear system is a little clunky, sometimes it gets jammed up when I’m using the drill. Wish there was an access port to lubricate. The cords are difficult to get even lengths across all four to have a level platform when raised. Likely a 3.5 star product but I’ll give benefit of a 4 star because of the storage solution and price point this product provides. I paid $195.00 for the item.

Quality item and works like it is supposed to with a little help
Installed the item using the provided instructions and all went well and almost worked the first time. Many reviews complain about the cables winding over themselves resulting in uneven raising. Had the same issue and and resolved by wiping cables lightly with a rag saturated in motor oil but not enough to be drippy. With the oil wipe complete cables slid tightly past each other and wound right up as designed. May have to repeat every now and then but very easy fix. Definitely would buy again and I do recommend this unit. Instructions are lacking in details. but with a bit of common sense all goes ok.

Faulty; poor design and flimsy
I have this item installed professionally. It was not the easy install. Once this item is operated two thing are problematic. Manual crank is very slow. Also the linkage has to be perfectly align or the who construction will start tilting creating dangerous disequilibrium. The bottom is made from very flimsy looking metal and is not adequate to support most of the item as the space between element is too wide. elements are flimsy so the pressure from pain can can bent the bottom. The compay claim that heave items can be place on this contraption - i dont see it. At minimum the playwood piece needs to be place on the bottom to reinforce it.The best part is that after i loaded 15 pound on the rack, one of the line snapped. The interlocking mechanism is poorly designed. Consequently, The bottom part tilted and dump all the item on the floor.THIS IS DANGEROUS DESIGN. People can get hurt.Company send me email offering an upgrade to prevent future failure but I lost the trust. This thing is overall poorly design. It is maybe good to store empty boxes but that it. In any case manual crank takes forever. WASTE OF MONEYCompany asked me to send the rack in original packing to get my money back. Not a good experience overall.
