Lifesaver
Stress Guard is absolutely incredible. I love Seachem products in general, so when I found out they had something that helped regenerate slime coats, I was ecstatic. I bought it for my betta fish to have on hand for emergencies and lo and behold, she got herself stuck in a decoration one day. I found her just in time, but she lost a few scales, tore her fins, and was extremely stressed and breathing heavily. I turned the heat up in her tank and added some Stress Guard and she was back to her old self after just a few days. I for sure thought she was a goner after that, but she's still swimming around with me today, happy as can be! Her fins are finally regrown now and she is feisty as can be.What's great about Stress Guard is that it doesn't have any aloe or similar oils in it. A lot of these "stress coat" type products have aloe in them and advertise it as good for bettas, but it is actually very bad for bettas specifically because it coats their labyrinth organ and can prevent them from breathing properly. Stress Guard, on the other hand, helps them regenerate their slime coat with ease and doesn't coat their labyrinth organ with any harmful oils.

Super happy with this product
I rescued a betta from Petco with fin rot. he has a rough month but he is now doing great! he recently moved into his new filtered 5 gallon...and shed his slime coat within the first 72 hours. it freaked me out! i don't exactly know what happened....but this stuff fixed him right up. in the process he also developed a very weird, almost zit/pimple type thing on his pelvic fin. really weird! i flipped out! at first i was thinking parasite...fungus....i dosed this immediately, as it was the only med i had on hand...this isn't actually a med...but my god this stuff works miraculously fast. some people in the fish forums i frequent told me it didn't look like a parasite or disease and that he would be fine. so i held off on ordering a specific medication....maybe about 6 hours later i went to check on him and it had improved so much. it actually looks like it burst. this morning more improvement so i went ahead and gave him another dose to treat for an additional 24 hours. that was about 7 hours ago. it has completely disappeared. i'm really glad i bought this. i got it for this exact reason. to just have on hand. i will also be dosing anytime i see signs of stress...or when i add new fish to my additional tanks. thanks so much Seachem! they have amazing support. just head on over to their website. you can contact them directly....Monday-Friday you'll get a response pretty fast. they really are super helpful. like they want to help....they want to educate their customers. they also have a support forum. i will not be using any other product for my fish besides Seachem brand.
