So entertaining in German
I upgraded to the remaster after buying the German version and not realising it!!I have listed to samples of this album sung in English, but it just isn't the same. Especially Showroom Dummies. As with the rest of the Kling Klang remasters, the sound is beautiful.

From station to station
This is the German version of the classic album Trans-Europe Express . The theme of this enchanting work from 1977 is travel, giving the impression of a continental train ride with constantly changing scenery. The overall style resembles their popular track Autobahn , with the same hypnotic qualities but with a wider symphonic scope. The vast melodic sweep provides its most memorable moments in songs like the lilting Europa Endlos and the title track, which reminds me of Bowie's Station to Station in its chugging rhythms. The most explorative instrumental passages occur on Spiegelsaal (Hall Of Mirrors) whilst Metall Auf Metall and Abzug are both reprises of Trans Europa Express with industrial and dub undertones.Franz Schubert is a beautiful melodious instrumental which recalls the atmospheric work of Peter Baumann and this magnificent album concludes with Endlos Endlos, a brief reprise of Europa Endlos. This is electronic music at its very best, hypnotic and engaging. Almost as great as their masterpiece Radio-Activity .

Dent in sleeve due to poor packing
Great release but another case of incompetent staff at amazon not bothering to pack vinyl properly. Usually they either don't pack it in a card sleeve, or only pack it in a sleeve, which I would still prefer honestly - in this case the record was just loose by itself in an oversized box with a useless sheet of brown paper thrown in that did nothing to protect it. Be it with records or books, I am really tired of this happening due to plain laziness of amazon packers, having worked in several warehouses myself. The dent is noticable, but I chose not to return as I get sick of having to all the time with amazon and I otherwise love the record, it's nice to have it in clear vinyl, I wanted the German version of trans Europe express for years and it's a lovely booklet as well. Overall good, but Amazon need to do better when packing items like this.

The return of the Thin White Duke
Yes, without Kraftwerks Magnum Opus there would be no Station to Station. My comment here is on the fantastic packaging on this product. Lovely gatefold sleeve with glossy booklet of band portraits (Bowie borrowed heavily from their image too). The clear vinyl is flat and plays perfectly. Mastering is perfect. I got the German version because it's more authentic. Get it while you can.....

Wunderbar!
I love Kraftwerk, since the first time I hard Autobahn as a 14 yr old back in 1975 I've been hocked on the groundbreaking teutonic electronic sounds the band produced. Hearing the album performed in German adds menace and authenticity to the listening experience. Terrific!

Wunderbar
I spoiled myself with the German version to add to my7 collection. It didn't disappoint - it's a true classic. Can't wait to get on the next train to Duesseldorf. BTW It is the re-mastered version which some reviewers say is not as good as the original, which may be true, but I think you would better speakers and ears than mine to tell the difference.
