What does thickened mean for 24 inch wide roll?

I think they mean it is very thick and it is. One tip is when you get it roll is backward and rubber band it for a few days to get the spring out of it so it will lay flat, or it will want to roll back up and you will have to tape it to keep it down. I hope that helps. I would buy it again it I needed it.

Are the ridges hard or soft non-slip plastic?

I really like this shelf liner. The ridges are firm and the liner stays very flat in the drawer. It doesn't curl. Non slip.

Does it slide on the shelf?

We just put it in drawers and cupboards. In drawers it works fantastic. Cupboards for the most part it lies flat. The only issue we had is with small cupboards - it rolls up. However, after putting cans on it to hold it down, we think it could lie flat. So, we'll see after a week or so. I might use Gorilla Grip liner on those shelves in the future when the cupboard is about 8 inches across and 8 inches length. And we cut those from the end of the roll where it has been tightly curled for awhile. But we're pleased with the product. I don't know how it would move on open shelves. I think it would remain fairly steady.
