Yes, they cost twice as much as most "used" or third-party toner cartridges. Also, yes... they are worth the extra money.I'm personally through with used cartridges. You have a 50/50 (or worse chance) that those will work. I don't have the time for that.A lot of the parts that make your printer work are contained in these cartridges (other than the toner). By getting a new cartridge you are getting new pieces for those critical components.This cartridge also includes a pre-paid UPS mailer to send the empty back to HP for recycling, which I intend to do.

I have been using this HP OEM toner for the same printer for 5 years and it works great. Never had a streak, easy to replace and last a long time if you monitor your printouts. I've tried cheap imitations and they streak or do damage to my printer, never again, stick with OEM toner.

I bought it 2 years ago and also 9 years ago, in the meantime I got generic ones but had to buy them more often. Hi, This is my first review. I read reviews left by others before I purchase a product, and one person left a poor review because he was shipped a "generic" looking, plain white package. He actually may be on to something, because there was nothing generic at all about the product I recieved. It arrived in a very sturdy box, with HP printing, colors and logos all over it. Inside was an actual HP printer cartridge, and I followed the digital user guide that came with my printer (HP Color LaserJet CP1215) and the pictures and description in the installation guide looked and matched EXACTLY with the product that arrived. Finally, the price I paid was significantly less than purchasing directly from HP. So, if your purchase screams HP on its wrapping, feel secure. However if it arrives in a generic white wrapper, send it back.

I've worked on laser printers for quite a few years now, and can't count how many problems I've solved by installing an authentic HP cartridge. (No, I'm not a paid spokesman!) In my own LJ at home, I only buy the HP toner. In fact, I've never heard someone say "I wish I wouldn't have bought the HP cartridge", whereas in contrast, the same can't be said about remanufactured units. It has great print quality, long life, and is just plain consistent. Don't forget to shop around for the best price, however!
