Very versatile FX and great value for money.
I bought this as a back up for my Hotone Ampero, which is considerably more expensive, and often left in my studio., so I needed something similar to use in the house. It had to have a drum machine and a looper, so there isn’t a lot of choice if you are on a budget. This little unit is almost a match for the Ampero. Some of the factory presets are very usable and the ones that aren’t to your taste are easily edited. It’s not the sturdiest of units, the case being plastic, but it’s tough enough, and as a practice tool at home, it’s ideal. The drum machine has some great sounds, and of course it has a built in looper, which is the easiest I have used, and very instinctive.I have used a wide variety of multi fx, I had a Nux MG 200 which I didn’t think was as good as this, and a Line 6 device which definitely wasn’t, and I have vintage units by KORG which are excellent, but this is far lighter and more compact and the tones are just as good if you put a bit of work into tweaking them. I have also used it with an acoustic guitar and in all honesty prefer it to the Nux Optima Air, which I returned as a complete disappointment. By deleting some of the factory patches and starting from scratch it’s possible to get a very good sound for acoustic guitars, and also an excellent bass simulator. If you are prepared to put an hour into experimenting and doing a bit of editing, you won’t be dissatisfied with this. Although I have not liked all Nux products, this one is a winner, and very good value for money. In my opinion it is worth considering as an alternative for some units that are twice the price.

Great for home studio use
This is a great little unit for rehearsing, recording demos and laying down ideas/writing songs. The FX and amp mods are fine for most purposes. But whilst this is a very good pedal for home studio/bedroom use, it's definitely no good for live work. The switches and pedal are too close together and it's easy to accidentally cut the sound by hitting the foot pedal or by turning the tuner on. Also its too fiddly for live use and there's too much lag to cleanly and easily switch between effects. It's got a good and very accurate tuner and is well built. And it's very easy to use. All in all a very good unit for home use, but it does have its limitations.

Good little unit
Cheap effective and sounds great.. the user interface could do with a bit work to make it a bit smoother to use. But that’s really nitpicking!!! For the price it won’t be beaten!! If you wanted to try a modeller then this won’t require a remortgage

Impressive multi pedal for novice/intermediate players
I've only being playing a few years and until now used a Fender Mustang LT25 modelling amp. The Fender has some nice tones but I wanted a pedal with tones and looper and the Nux works well. I was a bit underwhelmed by some of the factory pre-sets, but found that I could buy extra tones online (from well known online marketplace) that matched the quality of the Fender. I'm looking forward to using the 'Jam' functions to improve my timing and stamina. I can see myself upgrading in a couple of years, but for the money this is a bargain!

Incredible for the price
I’ve had so many units over the years, but never with IRs. Settled on a real amp and pedals about four years ago but was curious to try one of the newer multi effects units with built in cab simulation IRs because I’ve always loved the idea of plugging a unit directly into the pa and getting a sound that is of a high standard. So I took a punt on this and I’ve been so impressed. I’ve been using the free QuickTone software to set it up and have found that to be really intuitive.I’ve used it live straight into the pa with a Strat and it has sounded excellent. So good that I don’t intend to keep it for long before upgrading to the MG30 or something like the Mooer GE250 or GE300 Lite.Edit: so, having used it live with my Acoustasonic I noticed that there was a distorted tone to the acoustic voicing - it seems that it has struggled to cope with a guitar with a built in preamp. Fair enough as that isn’t its primary function, but it is marketed as an acoustic ready device because it has acoustic models and IRs built in. Not a deal breaker for most, as they’ll be using it with electrics with passive pickups, but for me I need something that can handle the slightly hotter output.

A great item
This is a very good and versatile multi effects pedal, worked really well out of the box, but not so great when first connected to the computer, once firmware had been downloaded and installed all was good, the quicktone software works very well with this pedal and there are a lot of IR's available to use with the quicktone software, the pedal works well with other software as well such as amplitude and Daws. I also have a modeling Amp but use the NUX MG-300 quite a lot. All in all an absolute bargain at 85 Quid.

Garbage
i have several NUX devices and normally find them very well made for the price and reliable. However, this is just a complete waste of money and the time it took trying to rectify the faults. The connection between the unit and my Mac computer was unstable despite using different and normally 100% reliable leads. When it worked it sounded good and promised to be a versatile practice tool. However, a firmware update following the procedure on the NUX website, which the unit reported as successful, killed it completely there is now no guitar signal output whatsoever, no matter how I tweak it or whatever amp I connect it to -zilch, it's dead as a doornail. Only the drum machine produces sound. Shame, this is potentially an excellent value practice setup, but the reality is that it's just so much electronic junk.
