There actually good for the body in small portions.
I think the other reviews covered every thing they liked or disliked about these licorice pastels. Some talked about a mixed bag and they have them, the bags looked the same so it might be confusing.I love these thicker pastels withe the softer licorice.I have them in a jar on the table and grab a few when I walk by.What I have discovered is not something most people want to talk about but I find these to be tasty “laxatives” and for Me that’s a good thing,I know the limit, eat 4-5 a day and constapation won’t be a problem.I looked up black licorice on Google and it definatly has a laxative affect, can be a burden if you eat to many so space them out.

GREAT N PLENTY
You people should be arrested for drug dealing! This stuff is shamelessly addictive!! I was never a big fan of Good N' Plenty as the licorice seemed to taste "different" and it was a little difficult to chew. These Jelly Belly candies have a perfect candy coating to licorice ratio. Just the right crunch and chew and they are literally mouthwateringly good. I ordered them yesterday, they came today and I'm pretty sure they'll gone before tomorrow. Unlike some reviewers, ours came in official Jelly Belly packaging. I have to keep pausing as I write because I can't keep my hand out of the bag. I also like the assortment of colors. There's the good ol' pink sand white as well as a vvariety of colors which make them more appealing rather than boring. This will not be my last bag! I would give them a 99.9 rating. Why not 100? On their own they are worth 100. However, what I thought was coming was a "bridge MIX" of the different candies shown on the bag and in the ad. I thought that would be awesome! So, I was a little bummed.A "mix" sounds like an assortment. Like a Brach's chocolate bridge mix isn't just bunch of raisins with chocolate on them, ya know? At first I was like, maaaaan, I should just send these back but then I tasted them. End of story, I have to close these up so there'll still be few when my son gets home. My wife and I have put a hurting on this bag. End note: if you don't already, you should do a real mix of the pictured candies!!

So Good!
These licorice candies are as good as ever, even though they now come in a larger shape.

Garbage - maybe flood damaged?
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I'm an idiot. I bought these again hoping that the first time I got them was a one off - they showed up looking like they had been in a sea can for a decade, underwater. The candies were SUPER ashy and way too fat, as if they absorbed water. Absolute garbage - perhaps they were discount palette items being resold? Steer clear of these. (Just look at the ashy package in the photo - the ink is even faded)I still tried eating some - tasted awful - like I said I'm an idiot.

Different shape/size, similar product
Basically a fat version of the old thin ones.Without the old ones to compare, going off memory. I think the licorice to candy is about the same. The coating being thicker, makes it seem softer...likely is. Licorice is a huge thing. The licorice seems to have a stronger taste....but then it might be like eating three of the old ones at one time....and I tend to eat them one at a time.....Overall, I like them....but it's different too. If I had a choice, I would prefer the thinner ones. I'm guessing for manufacturing equipment reasons, it's more comparable with their jelly bean machines.

I was very surprised that they tasted just like the ones I used to get from the fancy candy shops.
They are larger but they taste great and the inside liquorish is soft and like the really expensive kind from England. I will get these again. Please sell them in supermarkets !!!!!!!

Very disappointed.
Very disappointing. When I think of licorice pastels, I think of the little thin ones we used to get in bulk at grocery stores. Jelly Belly licorice pastels aren’t anything like that. They are actually fatter than Good and Plentys, also, the shell is harder and thicker to the point where I’m concerned about my teeth, and the licorice isn’t as soft. I like Good and Plentys but still prefer the “thinner” licorice pastels because they are easier on my teeth. Unfortunately, Jelly Belly licorice pastels weren’t what I expected. Very disappointed.
