Great at keeping rugs from slipping

Ordered the 8 x 10 rug pad a few months ago and have used it enough now to absolutely confirm that the pad works and we are very happy with the purchase.Have hardwood floor and room-sized oriental rugs in the major rooms, but smaller rugs in the entrance foyer and hallways. These smaller rugs tend to slide on the hardwood when our kids come blasting through, or whenever our crazy golden retriever decides it is time to do a little rug-surfing down the hallway!We cut this 8 x 10 pad into four pieces to fit under a 14 x 3 hallway runner and two smaller rugs (one 5 x 4 and the other 5 x 3).The pad cut very easily... actually, we really didn't have to 'cut' it at all -- the pad is made of rubber that is formed into a tight grid pattern. We just measured the size of the carpet and marked the pad, then ran open scissors (a fairly new, sharp pair) down the row of the grid that we marked. It was very fast and easy and I covered 10 feet of cutting in maybe 20 seconds. Our measurements allowed for the pad to be about two inches smaller than the carpet, all the way around.After measuring and cutting, we followed a similar routine to other reviewers:* Turned the rug upside down on the floor and vacuumed it well* Placed the pad on top of the underside of the rug and made sure there was at least 1 inch more carpet than pad* Cut about 20 2-inch long pieces of black duct tape and set them aside for use* Taped one corner as a starting point using one piece of tape on each of the corner's two sides* From that first corner, smoothed the pad and taped the other corner of the same end (placing tape between the corners)* Slowly worked our way down the pad, smoothing the pad and putting tape along the edge about every two feet* Turned the rug right side up, set it in place and vacuumed one more time.Now you can still grab the rug and pull it around if you need to, but it does not slip when the kids or dog come bounding in.We will be back to order at least one more to go under the 8 x 12 carpet in our entrance foyer! If you are looking for an inexpensive, effective, easy-to-use non-slip rug pad like this, we highly recommend this one.

We have a natural fiber hand woven Jute rug we purchased from World Market. These rugs can be quite pricey so we attempted to save on costs and not purchase a non-slip rug pad. We figured they weren't really necessary. We have the Jute rug for about 8-9 months before we finally gave in and tried to give this non-slip thingy ma jig a try. I really hated the look of the rug prior to the purchase of this because the edges didn't stay even, it looked stretched and it slipped all of the time and we were constantly have to re-position the rug. We tried to solve the problem by putting the edges under our sectional sofa on the two sides and thought the weight of the coffee table would keep it in place. This was not successful. It would bunch under the couch in some areas and I just was never pleased with the rug and regretted purchasing it all together.After buying this non-slip rug pad I had a new found appreciation for the Jute rug. Every edge looked even and quite nice. I told my kids to jump around on the rug and just "be their normal CRAZY selves LoL" I am pleased to report the rug maintained it's position. I now see the need for the purchase of these things and in the future will just consider it a necessary purchase when buying a rug.The reason for the 4-star rating is because I believe it has been 2-3 months since buying this product and it has begun to slip a little. The main edge that is visible doesn't look as straight. Granted I do have 3 young rambunctious boys and have two dogs who like to run and chase their toys on the rug. So I guess nothing will stay with all this commotion, it's not that big a deal to re-position it every once in a while. At least, it is no where near as frequent as it was when I didn't have the non-slip pad. So I definitely recommend the purchase of this product when buying a rug or if you have had one that slips around a lot and drives you nuts! This should help a lot!

I needed a very thin, low profile rug pad for an entrance rug. This one came in multiple sizes, had good reviews and it’s Made in the USA….bonus!!! My parents always taught me to buy American if possible. That becomes increasingly more difficult. This product doesn’t have odor and grips for!

This is a great product at a great price. Eventhough I have been using this rug pad for a month and a half, I am still waiting to see how well it performs. I have it under my kitchen table on a hardwood floor. The rug pad performs great as advertised: keeps the rug firmly in place. I was skeptical because of reviews that claimed it will stick to hardwood floors. So far, this has not happened as I pull it up from time to time to check, especially where there is heavier, more steady weight on the rug. I am seeing a pattern leftover from the pad, but I also have a high gloss finish on my floor. I know two other people that have used this pad and they have more natural, satin finishes on their floors. I will continue to monitor, but so far, so good. This is a great value for this product.
