UPDATE- they work! : Buttons don't work when you want them to
UPDATE: I had written that the buttons don't work - I talked to JBL support team via chat, bonus points for not needing a phone call, and the tech taught me how to reset the headset and that did the trick. The buttons work these are fabulous headphones now that all the features work. I love them a lot. They stay put while working out and don't fatigue my ears like other headsets have done. The sound quality is good, its not as bass heavy as I'm sure some people will want, but they still sound good to me and work for what I need. One of the top tier features for me is that you can use and control it from just 1 of the buds, I like to keep one in, one out when riding my bike on the street so I can still hear traffic and it works great.

Much Better then I Expected...
First of all, the thing you need to know about me is I mainly listen to music on my iPod Classic. Still. Yep, I'm one of THOSE people. I use a dongle that I attach to the iPod and it normally works very well. In a lot of cases, better then my cell phone. So with that in mind, let me tell you about my experiences with sports earphones. I've been thinking about getting a pair for quite awhile, but I didn't want to get them if I felt there was any danger of me losing them. A few weeks ago I run across a youtube video about Powerbeats and how hard it is to dislodge them, so I thought I'd give them a try. So I get my super expensive Powerbeats and it is a total bust, because they refuse to pair with my iPod/bluetooth set up. It's not the first time it's happened, but it's the first time it's happened with an Apple product. Also, I didn't really love the sound, but that could have been because I didn't put any effort to adjust them very well because for what they cost, I wasn't going to keep them if I couldn't pair them with the device I use most often to listen to music.Next I tried another brand and I won't mention that one because the experience was even worse then with the Powerbeats. They not only refused to pair, but when I tried listening listening to them using my phone, they were nearly the worst sounding device I ever used to listen to music. The only thing I did like was the case, which had a very nice feel. But that did not make them worth keeping. So I was going to give up, but then I ran across the JBL EP2 (I'm not using the entire silly name). I had a friend who loved JBL products and urged me to try them. So I did. First off, they paid more easily then almost any other device I've tried pairing with my iPod Classic. I was pretty amazed, because usually I have to try a few times to get a connection, but it happened almost instantly. After that, I thought that they would sound horrible, because how could they be all that?I wasn't completely wrong. The sound wasn't good. It wasn't horrible, but they fell well short of what I was expecting. So I told my friend I was going to return them, but then he asked me how tight the fit was. So I asked him how tight is the fit supposed to be. It turns out, pretty tight. If the EP2's aren't wedged in really well, apparently all the sound escapes from your ears and you're left with a tinny shadow of how good they can sound. I found when I really jammed them in, the sound was really good. Full and detailed (I'm not an audiophile so don't expect a lot of flowery language about sound fields and highs and lows). But the ear tips that came with the ear buds did not give that tight a fit, especially if I moved around so I tried a couple of other makers. Now they fit very snug and I couldn't be happier about the purchase. I took one star off because I had to go to the trouble of getting the different ear tips. So, I'm keeping these. I'm sure Amazon will be happy. Take care all

Completely Disappointed
I had gotten two pairs of cheap mpow earbuds, one of them finally disintegrated after eons and became regular non rap around earbuds. The only issue with them was my boss has a hard time hearing me using them so I decided to try a more expensive well known brand for a change and I gotta say... Completely disappointed. I honestly didn't realize these had touch and gesture controls until I opened the package which was my bad but immediately invisioned a future that involved nightmare gesture control responsiveness, and in that it didn't let me down. As far as I can tell you cant fully use the functions with one earbud. If the right one is in you can turn up the volume but the left one doesn't so your stuck having to take your phone out to change the volume if you have the right headphone charging. The touch is very very unresponsive. Me poking at my ear to play and pause the darn music is based on some kind of random chance, but wait, flick your head and your hair can get it for yah... When you didn't want it to. Woops I brushed it itching the side of my ear, did my hoodie good seriously pause the frickin things. Pokes it to play the music. Pokes it again. Pokes it again longer. Pokes it again quicker gives up. Pokes it a final time and starts playing. The volume is great until you take a call and for whatever reason it's maybe 25% quieter and unable to get any louder. I have found that I was maybe able to take one phone call the entire few weeks I have used it, near daily, the rest of the time I have to tell the person who has called me. Hold on and switch it speaker phone because the slightest background noise is louder than the output of the earbuds call volume. That's what I get for changing from the cheapo one that had responsive tactile button controls and the only complaint it had was someone on ther other end of the line not being able to hear me that well. I usually eat a lot of bad purchases but this one is a no go. One of the earbuds also doesn't seem to be charging just powering off after a couple minutes being on. It could be dirty contacts on the charger.... but I won't have to worry about that soon enough. Ps I jcame back cause I just remembered that the fit sucks as well like it's too good, putting one on takes two hands for the most part and I haven't had a around ear earbud that really had an issue coming out and I work construction. The shut the ear thing to power off seems like a good idea until you need to take it off for a quick second to itch your sweaty ear and it powers down on yah. The case is the best feature of these earbuds. Solid and clicks shut and opens with a button. Something the earbuds could have used.
