Durable, Comfortable, and Perfect Fit!
This is our second Elite Jiu-Jitsu gi — we got the green one over a year ago, and it’s held up to at least two classes a day, four days a week for my 13-year-old. That’s some serious wear and tear, and it’s still going strong! The fit is great, the fabric is durable, and it’s light enough for easy movement and rolling. We just picked up the grey one, and it’s just as impressive. Elite really nailed the balance between comfort, toughness, and quality. Highly recommend for anyone training regularly — these gis can take it! 👊

Elite Fit and Comfort
Thr Gi is comfortable. Made of quality material. The rope belt was interesting, but it really works. I am able to move around easily in the pants and no noticeable pull in the jacket. I also do not get too hot moving around in it. The price was excellent for the high quality of the stitching and thick material. The fit is true to size. I plan on ordering another one for my son. When I washed the set, it did not shrink at all.

Elite BJJ Gi TESTED, TRIED, and TRIUMPHED.
I bought the Elite Sports BJJ Gi because of the price as well as the high number of positive reviews about their products. I have been training jiu-jitsu for only 4.5 years and have bought six gis in that time. I am a 51yr old, 265lbs, 6ft.3in blue belt bjj guy that is able to train about 4-6 classes over four days each week. This is my first Elite brand gi and I cannot say enough good things about it. FIRST of all, their online store was easy to navigate. SECONDLY, shipping was quick (two days) and packaged nice and secure, both the product and the shipping packaging. THIRD, the fit and sizing was just right for me. I know there is a sizing chart that you can check, but I just know the A5 is my size in all the different brands of gis I have. However, I always make sure I order from companies that offer free returns and exchanges for the correct size, so that’s never been an issue or worry for me. The pants (for my A5) were a great fit, my thighs were not busting the seams and were loose enough for me to move around, sprawl, squat, windmill, uchi-mata, butterfly, guard, etc. – all kinds of leg stuff that a tight fit would make me feel restricted. The A5 Elite gi pants are a good, strong, and well-sewn. As with most brands, Elite has plenty of drawstring length if you need to cut some off and tie a knot on the end. For this A5, I won’t have to do that. The top (for my A5) was also a great fit. The sleeve length was just right for me, the body length was right where I like it, and the flaps (whatever you call the part you close around your middle) were sized right so my wide girth of a belly didn’t keep it from closing. The shoulder and armpit area was not restrictive. My movements and mobility were fine while doing uchi-mata drills. I have another brand that likes to tighten up around my armpits and makes me feel like I am also fighting my gi as well as my opponent. I didn’t feel like I was fighting the fabric of the Elite A5. FOURTH, the breathability (for my A5) was incredibly impressive. I spent an afternoon of drilling, training, and rolling in our metal building bjj gym with no A/C and bay doors open for a fan to circulate. This July afternoon was hot (for me) at a Mississippi 104 heat index plus humidity. I’m not complaining, I’m just stating the fact that I didn’t test this in November. I wanted to see how the Elite compared to my other “summer” gi. The Elite breathed better than any of my other brands that markets itself as a hot-weather gi. Both are good, but the Elite definitely breathed better. Today’s training in the heat affirmed my choice of the Elite as well as it being the first brand out of my mouth to recommend to my friends. FINALLY, the price (for my A5) was better than any other brand I’ve bought. I have a 19yr old son who is also my height, strength, frame (but not weight), and level of bjj experience. I usually buy two of whatever bjj gear I get. I know that ELITE Sports has specials from time to time, and that helps, but even at regular price, it’s very affordable and appealing. BONUS. For what it’s worth, I have been talking about this gi to my bjj partners and when the day came to train, they knew it was to be put through the ringer. One incident that was funny was during our grip fighting, my opponent had my gi in his grips and paused (briefly) to comment, “Dude, that’s soft! That’s a good feeling gi.” That was a good distraction technique and he got the takedown. I love, love, love this gi. I wore it all day in our seminar and was as comfortable as I could be. Others were taking off their tops between sessions for a breather, but I kept mine on. Go get an ELITE Gi or two. You’ll be glad. (Photo at the end of the training/testing of the Elite A5.)

Great value for the money
Overall I'm very happy with this BJJ Gi. I just started a few weeks ago, and once I figured out I wanted to continue my journey, I needed to get a gi but didn't want to break the bank. I'm 6' even and about 180lbs. Since I was really close to the cutoff for the A3 on the size chart, and didn't want to be too constrained by the gi, I first tried the A4 size. It was massive, and even if it had shrunk in the wash (or I tried on purpose), I would have lost the needed length on my arms and legs but it still would have been way too big around my torso. I then ordered an A3, and that fits much better. However, the sleeves and legs are just a bit shorter than I would like, and the gi still has plenty of size around my legs and torso. So I'm feeling like an A2L that some other brands offer might actually be the perfect fit. Comfort wise, the pants were great from the start. The top itself was a bit stiff, however now that I've washed it a few times after classes, it's starting to loosen up a bit. The material used for both top and bottom are nice and feel very high quality, and I have no doubt they'll stand up well to abuse. They claim this gi is preshrunk, however I would still advise you don't ever dry it with any heat, and probably stick with washing in cold water. I've washed mine 3 times so far, and after the first wash in cold water and hang drying only, there was still a noticeable loss of sleeve and pant leg length. It wasn't a ton, and it will still work (just barely), but if it had shrunk any further, I would have been unhappy. I might still try an A2L from another brand that's in this same price point, but overall if you can find a size that fits you well, it's hard to recommend spending any more for other brands, especially if you're a white belt.

Great value!
This BJJ Elite gi is lightweight, comfortable, and tougher than it looks. After weeks of rolling, it hasn’t shrunk or worn down at all. The fit is clean and athletic, and the reinforced stitching gives it a premium feel. Great value—would definitely buy again.

This Gi is a great fit for both training and competition.
This Gi is great! True to size and very durable. It’s a comfortable fit, and seems to hold up against your opponents grips. It’s 60% cotton so follow the washing directions on the tag so that your Gi doesn’t shrink. I’ll definitely be buying another one.
