Quite Nice; Good for our Annual Xmas Eve Steak Dinner
Six of us have steak on Xmas Eve every year, so this year I bought these, along with the matching forks. These are quality knives. They're not serrated (the serrated ones are cheaper), and so they cut precisely and can be sharpened using a sharpener from your knife block. They're weighted nicely and have a good feel in the hand. The wood is real and is on the lighter side but if you wanted to darken it you could just rub in some linseed oil, which would make it more durable anyway. They cannot be put in the dishwasher, but whatever, cleaning knives is easy. Some have commented that the gift box is made of cardboard. Yes, it's not wood, but it's nice enough to not be too cheap. I think its fine to give as a gift, but yes, these aren't show-stoppers. They are nice knives. I'm glad to have the case to keep them in, and with our infrequent use the case should last years.

I can’t wait to gift this to everyone I know
They feel and look great and high quality. The weight of it great as well. I cannot stop thinking about how cool they are while I’m using them, that’s the only issue. I want to gift this to everyone I know. I bought the olive wood so color is amazing.

Excellent quality - like those sold in France
These are very high quality Languiole knives. My wife and I just returned from the south of France and saw Languiole knives and olive wood utensils almost everywhere. The Languiole name describes a style, not a brand, so you need to be careful of cheap quality knives with this same name. These are the real deal - they have heft. Both the handles and blades are excellent, and the cigale (cicada) on the handle is detailed - the same as those for sale in France. We love them and they will always remind us of our trip.

Rustic and classy
Pretty knives, traditional style. We have a cottage we must hand wash everything so these fit right in. They look and feel well made, yet somehow also seem rustic. They have not been used much so we cant speak to how long they keep an edge yet.

Good quality, handles and blade edge only complaint
The weight and quality of the materials on these are pretty good. Full tang with a solid wood handle. Downsides are the handles are left unfinished and the blades are varying degrees of sharp. The handles were easy to finish, I used some super fine steel wool (0000) and mineral oil. Two coats with a 24 hour cure has held up well for a few months so far to hand washing. The blades are sadly a mix, some came nicely sharp, others pretty dull. They do sharpen nicely and seem to hold the edge. Overall, I'm happy with them and bought another set, even with the downsides. Before these ones, I paid a lot more for another set of stainless laguiole knives from another maker that claimed to be high quality but turned out to have a lot of plastic hidden inside when they started falling apart. I figure even with the upfront oiling and sharpening, these seem well made enough to last a few decades. I think they're still worth it.

Beautiful olive wood knives
Beautiful olive wood knives. I had read a review that mentioned the wood was dull, and I did find that to be true, but the wood was very smooth and the handles were well put together. Just like with any olive wood, I just rubbed them with a little olive oil to condition the wood and they look beautiful. They are comfortable to hold and sharp for cutting.
