I am an avid chess player and I wanted an heirloom-quality chess set with metal pieces that I can teach my grandkids to play on as well as leave to them when I pass from this world. This set is perfect. High-quality , heavy metal pieces with clear details in a fine wooden box with foam cutouts for each piece in the appropriate shape. My only quibble is that the bronze and green colors and a bit too similar but still easily distinguishable in good light. Purchase these for a local high school chess club and they have been fantastic. They can withstand constant use with no wear to show for it. Would highly recommend.

My son and I love the pieces so we use them on a different board, the board that came with the piece isn't that great or large enough to play easily. For the price the board should be much better!

Aesthetic silver and copper polished brass pieces. The board is well crafted and the latch is tight and fits securely. A very nice set that doesn’t drain the pockets.

The pieces are lovely. Great weight. Genuine metal not plastic. The foam casing is great. The clasps have had little bearings fall out. Not a big deal. But the board is stuck to the timber case. It’s the only reason this didn’t get a 5 star. For the price it’s no issue. Overall a great portable set.

I loved it and purchased it for my son who plays much better than I do and added the analog clock too . The board is solid and attractive wood .
