A good photographer eats with his camera, sleeps with his camera, showers with his camera. Always ready to go. A GREAT photographer also has a tripod. For, at moments, nothing else will do. I thought I bought the pixie version - I got this one, and am so glad. The pixie has to turn the camera to screw it on, this has a moving dial to spin - faster, gentler. This is strong, I put my multi kg astro binoculars on it, and set it on a cast iron table - rock solid. ROCK solid. In astro viewing, the slightest move means you don't see nothin' so what a test. Very pleased. Great for bushwalking sudden group shot setups. Useable for selfies. Gives more height and reach - solid, so can trust not to drop my camera and make me cry. Fast setup. Can just fit in small pouch bag at waist along with small binocs, camera, wallet, phone - squeezes in. Quality build. Really happy. Oh - also can get flat to get a really really really low shot, which otherwise you would do by putting your camera on the filthy dirt.

Non ero molto convinto di acquistare il pixie, a dirla tutta vedendo la prima versione ero molto scettico, perchè avendo una Nikon D750 credevo che non ne avrebbe retto il peso. Alla fine spinto da diverse recensioni viste, dalle caratteristiche del prodotto e dal marchio che di per se è una garanzia...mi sono deciso e l'ho acquistato (ho preso la versione nera in offerta a 35€ perchè le altre costavano sui 50€ ma quello rosso e grigio è veramente carino). Fatta questa premessa arriviamo al dunque. In tutte le recensioni che ho trovato/visto sul web venivano utilizzate macchine ben più minute e leggere della mia, così ho voluto testarlo solo con la D750 a cui ho montato un Tamron 24-70 G2 (peso totale 1,65kg). Da chiuso regge bene il peso anche in posizione obliqua ma mettendo la macchina per lo scatto in verticale (cosa che viene segnalata anche nelle illustrazioni fornite col pixie) il cavalletto si sbilancia per l'eccessivo peso. Con le gambe aperte (le posizioni di apertura sono ben 5) "giocando" sulle due altezze disponibili, che potete scegliere con un tastino posto sulla testa a sfera, di cui una praticamente a terra, il pixie regge il peso della macchina egregiamente senza alcun problema considerato anche lo scatto verticale (ma serrate bene la vite di fissaggio perchè potrebbe cedere sotto il peso dell'attrezzatura) ma occhio a metterlo rasoterra con la macchina in verticale perchè, anche in questo caso, il peso lo sbilancia. In sintesi il pixie evo si è dimostrato veramente solido e versatile, con le giuste accortezze vi permetterà di scattare in qualsiasi posizione vogliate e grazie ai suoi 260gr di peso credo sarà un oggetto fisso nella vostra borsa.

The quality of the product is quite bad, similar ones would cost between 5-10 euro on the web. It's very unstable too. In the description of the product it says the weight limit it supports is 5 kilograms, but on the package I received it says 5 pounds (so around 2.5 kilograms). I wouldn't dare putting an expensive device on top of this support.
