ASCENDANCE OF A BOOKWORM 1 & 2

The colors are a bit strong for me initially, which is why I had put off watching it. But I thought I would give it a try, and, well, I found the story writing and animation very enjoyable! It definitely keeps you at the edge of your seat further in!

This anime is a wonderfulslice of life anime, it's cute, got great world building, wonderfully paced, great and wholesome, and believable. It lives up to it's manga, and the art is gorgeous. A must watch for Isekai viewers, and even better since it has a female protagonist

The story of Ascendance of a Bookworm is amazing, highly recommended the source material light novels to anyone interesting in a good slow burn isekai about trying to make books. The animation is clunky but it does pick up in the 2nd and the recent 3rd season. Still totally worth it! As a side note I prefer the sub to dub, the voice acting in the dub comes across very amateurish for a lot of the main and supporting cast. But I enjoyed it either way! :)

A librarian is isekai'd from modern Japan into a medieval world. She inhabits the body of a young girl, and is part of a loving family. But for some reason, her new body is weak and sickly. This gets explained later in the show.She brings many helpful, and money making, ideas to her new world. And there are those who help her make them a reality. Of course, the question comes up, "how do you know all these things?".It's adventure, drama, comedy, capitalism, and a now-young girl's desire to be a librarian/caretaker of her own library. After all, she Loves Books!And a teaser - there is no conclusion, although it goes a long way. I'm definitely itching for a third Season!

I'm admittedly biased here, season 01 on Crunchyroll got me into the novels & manga.As title, it looks MUCH more clean & crisp then the Crunchyroll (streaming) counterpart. You have the option of switching between the English language version or the original Japanese Language version with (English) subtitles. I prefer the latter, the English voicework simply hurts my ears. Both seasons come in 3 disks, with the extras/Easter egg special features on the 3rd disk. The IU/main page for all 3 disks is also done really well.If I have nitpicks overall, it's in the following: On the special features I REALLY would've liked to have seen a "making of" for this series (cast interviews, drafts, what made the powers that be decide on making the novels into an anime, & so on). Secondly: instead of 3 disks, it probably should've been 4: 2 disks for season 01, & 02 for season 02.As for my reasoning on the hard copy versions when I've seen the Crunchyroll version, the answer is simple. This way, on the off-chance some screwball in the future decides to edit or kill the series, I still have my original unaltered hard copy.

I first saw this series on Crunchyroll, I enjoyed it so much I started reading the novels. This is the first blu-ray I’ve bought in about 2 years. Very crisp and clean, the colors just pop. Highly recommend!

So I bought this to go in the o a Easter basket I thought it would be a cute little series but nothing special. We honestly are floored at how good this series is and so happy that they are continuing the series with season 3!

Despite being a long series, it went through the paces properly. It told a tale and didn't rush anything via narrative exposition or flashbacks. Sincerely hope for a season 3!
