If you shopped the aftermarket parts market for awhile then you know that there's all kinds of half-baked lighting upgrades, especially when it comes to anything led. From extra ballasts to retrofitted wanna-be projectors to gimmicky innefectual illumination patterns, there's all kinds of junk you can stick in or around your headlights that won't make things any better. Not so with these lamps from Sylvania. These are the best automotive led lamp retro I have ever used.The feature a design where no llight is emitted from the end of the lamp. This is very clever for two reasons. First, it leaves room for a large heat diffuser. LEDs do not produce near as much heat as incandescents but they must be kept cooler. If the LED becomes too hot it will fail. Recall that many early LED bulbs could not be placed inside of closed lamp housings? This is why.The other reason is it helps create a more balanced light pattern. LEDs emit highly directed light. Meaning that they tend to be blindingly bright from a few angels and rather dim from all others. Usually, to mitigate this, LED lamp designers place many rows of low intensity LEDs all over the housing including on the end. Usually this works ok, especially if the lamp is behind a heavily fogged diffuser. But instead, this lamp shines all of its light backwards towards the light housing's reflector. It does this by mounting the LEDs on the angled supports of the heat diffuser tower. And it works brilliantly! When viewing the lamp illuminated inside the housing, you get an almost perfectly uniform presentation of light.Aside from this clever design, the lamps are very solidly built. They come with a lifetime warranty. Sylvania is really standing behind this product. I cannot recommend them enough.

This is my second set of these and they work very well. They are polarity sensitive, so make sure to turn the lights on and check them before you put them back together. If they don't light up simply reverse the bulb. I used them for reverse lights which helped a lot, parking lights and daytime running lights. If you want to use them for turn signals you will also need a flasher that is designed for LED lights or they will flash way too fast and weak. Fast delivery and excellent service.

On my 2005 Silverado they were very easy to install. I bought them to prevent the sockets from being further burned to a crisp by the heat of the stock bulbs. They seemed brightest low to the ground, which probably is a function of the reflector housing.Update: One of them failed. This is the first failure of a LED automotive light I've had, and this was far from being the oldest. Goes to show - paying more for the American brand name doesn't pay. And, by the way, they are are plenty hot while running. While testing, I couldn't take the other side out until it was off for 5 minutes, because it was so hot to the touch.

These are so crisp looking and very nice modern looking daytime running lights. Easy to install, no issues with anything working properly. Looks absolutely fantastic compared to old bulbs, which were melting the housing. Amazing value and typically lasts a very long time.

These are well-made bulbs by a trusted manufacturer. The heat sink and the angle that the LEDs are mounted out created uniform light within the reflector. They're not overly white to where they are almost blue and there are solid output of light with the proper spread so that they look like regular bulbs putting out a white light. The heat sink is integrated into the frame of the bulb. They should last a long long time.
