My mother is 90 years old now, and she loves music -- and has a large CD collection from over the decades. When her last player finally wore out from heavy use, I checked Amazon for a replacement. This looked and sounded perfect; and when it arrived, it exceeded expectations. The sound quality is outstanding. It's perfect for mom's bedside table, where she plays it constantly. It's easy to use, takes up a very reasonable amount of space (the small table still has plenty of room for other items on it), and it's extremely lightweight -- and has a nice handle -- if we want to move it to another room. We have had this for two months now, and mom could not be more pleased with it!

Like it. The bass could be a bit deeper but not bad for the price

The first one we ordered we had to return. The Cd quality was good but the tape playback was awful. Unlistenable. Radio was ok. We got a replacement. It looked better. Newer. Maybe our first one had been a return from another customer? We’ve kept the replacement, as the tape playback, although not as good as Cd is at least decent and good enough. Cd playback is very nice and radio works fine. Hard to find such multi-function players these days for a good price. This is good once you get a workable one. Amazon is great re: returns and replacements, so it wasn’t that bad to have to try two before we were satisfied.

CD player stopped working, cassette stopped playing then the whole machine stopped working. Only had boombox 2 months but couldn't return to Amazon because it was beyond 30 days. And contacted Phillips and boombox has been discontinued.

Was able to play CDs, Cassettes, and Radio. Met our expectations!

This is for the cassette version. Phillips used to make excellent boomboxes in the 90s with little buttons like bass boost. This one is cheap-ish and the sound quality is also cheap sounding. I'm just trying to play cassette tapes and they just don't sound good coming from this particular model. I returned it. It works fine and will be totally fine for people who are unfussy about how things sound. It just doesn't sound as full and rich as older model Phillips cassette players I find in thrift stores.

This was a last-minute Christmas gift for my husband. He likes to have something to play his old cassette tapes and cd's &/ or listen to the radio, in the garage. I didn't want to spend a lot on it as it is pretty hot or cold, not to mention dusty, out there. The order arrived in just a few days, it was packaged well, and it is easy to operate. It also came with a booklet so it was easy to get going. For the price this is great quality and works well. He's been happy with it.

I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS CAREFULLY. I agree that the sound on this item is very weak. This is confirmed by my grandson who said " that radio isn't very good" . I guess you get what you pay for, but here is a product that has been manufactured for decades. You would think that even a low end version would get it right. Unfortunately this item will make it to my garage sale bin soon enough. It works, nothing defective-just below average performance when it comes to sound quality.
