We catch bait off the east coast of south Florida and these worked pretty awesome. Other boats often appear to get skunked trying to catch bait but we just load up like crazy (white bait/pilchard and greenies/greenback/threadfin/herring - 6-7 inches long). Even bring up some other random bait or trigger fish without the line breaking or bent hooks. I tried a few other cheaper Sabiki rigs and they either got nothing or not as easily as these, broke the line, the hook line or the hooks would bend fairly easily. Normally, we burn through cheap Sabiki rigs but just used one of these last weekend and it is still on the rod amazingly with all it's hooks! You really get what you pay for although check your local fishing shops if the price here gets way too high (double digits) which I've seen happen. That's about double the going rate. I also tried Hayabusa Hage Kawa which I believe just has red beads instead of the green. The green (Hage Aurora) seem to work best in our off coast south Florida area. I bought both size 6 and 8 and had great luck with both. I probably wouldn't go smaller than size 4 for my application and size 6 seems to be the sweet spot. The bait we caught was approximately 6-7 inches long. On a final note, a nice Sabiki rig is just part of the equation when catching bait. You'll still need to find the bait first which can sometimes be a challenge. My advice is to scan for other boats packed together and watch to see if any are pulling up bait on their Sabiki rigs.

Yes, go ahead and try all the others like I did. There are good Sabiki rigs out there, but these are the best. The flourish line is first rate, the hooks do not bend or curl, and the fish skin slivers are super fresh. They cost more, no doubt. To me it is well worth the extra money. I use them to catch small bait for my surf fishing addiction. They never let me down.

The only thing I think is worth noting here is the actual artificial bait on the hooks that are built-in are quite flimsy. They seem to easily be clipped off with a couple of strikes. Overall, tangle-free and a very good rig.

Awesome. Bait catchers. Be careful though inside SF bay u can only use 3 hooks so need to remove 2

Works great. I add a tiny piece of "fish bites" to the hooks and I often catch one or more fish before the sabiki even finishes sinking.
