Q: Is this real or fake? fjallraven customer service says fake.....

Fjallraven may have said that AMAZON isn't an authorized retailer, but you're not buying from Amazon they're fulfilling the order, you're buying from different sellers (it tells you who is selling the bag when you scroll down on product page) there is ZAPPOS for example, they sell authentic, I'm unsure of the others but you'd need to find the seller names and then go back and ask Fjallraven which are authorized because I have seen a lot of fake bags in customer pics. Fjallraven can be slow to ship that's why I order from Zappos or Nordstrom.

Q: Would this backpack comfortably fit a standard size nalgene water bottle?

This backpack is extremely small. It’s a miniature. I ordered for my 9 and 10 year old nieces, paid 80 dollars per backpack, and it looked like I had bought them a backpack for their dolls.

Q: Is the mini size just for children? or adults too? If for adults, how on earth do you adjust the straps to fit?

It's for adults too. The straps are adjustable.
