The sound on this pad is way too loud! But it does give good bounce reaction …but not the same as a snare drum, as some other reviewers would suggest. . I had one of these back in the 70’s that was constructed of metal…this has been replaced by plastic and this is where it all falls flat, even the sound and feel isn’t the same.

If you want a LOUD practice pad, look no further. If you want one that WON’T make your roomies want to amputate your arms, try the Meinl Benny Greb practice pad. It comes in six or twelve inches, and they are both SWEET! I now have both sizes and highly recommend them to all drummers of every level. I do not receive any incentives or compensation for my reviews. I appreciate when I read Amazon comments that are real and accurately reflect the product I’m considering purchasing. I don’t appreciate reading anything by anyone who has not paid for the product, has not used the product, or has been given some form of compensation for leaving a review. It taints the entire commenting process.

Good for what it is. Helps with accuracy. The Remo stand for this costs 2.5 times what you pay for the pad and you pretty much need it as the pad is very light so the investment is really about $75 before you can really use it... and there are much better pads you can get for well under $75.
