It freaking exploded on the first use!!Just there on my desk at work. Talking with a coworker and bang! Glass everywhere! What if it where in m my hand or close up to my mouth! It literally came in the mail yesterday and this was my first use. No, i didn’t over heat the water. I was on my 3rd refilling.

After reading reviews, I was concerned about one that mentioned broken glass and contacted the seller. They explained that they added a vent hole at the bottom of the glass to let the hot air out. I ended up buying the set because they offer a no hassle return policy, and I'm glad I did. It's beautifully made, and I've been using it for a while now without any problems. I've been drinking mate for 30 years, and drinking out of this glass mate set is just as good as drinking out of a traditional gourd with the huge bonus of cleanliness. After some months or years, you sometimes wonder what might be growing inside your traditional gourd. This glass set eliminates that issue. It is just perfect, gourd and straw.

Very happy with this Mate Gourd. The photos on Amazon don't do it justice. It feels really good when you hold it and the outside stays cool because of the double wall construction. The bomba (straw) is also beautiful and of good quality. I did not get a bunch of tea leaves in my mouth while sipping my Mate with the bomba. If I could change anything I would make the Gourd just a little bit bigger. This is just my personal preference and will not affect your Yerba Mate sipping enjoyment using this Gourd.

I love this clear glass mate! It's much easier to clean than with the traditional mate gourds. I love that aesthetically it matches the rest of my mugs and cups. Arrived quickly and in great condition. My wife and I love this new addition!
