This is the second bag I have bought. It's 100% psylium husk. It has no additives, sugar, or coloring. I had been drinking the store brand equivalent of well known brand. I was shocked to discover that that brand had 30% sugar and a bunch of additives. I made the switch to this brand. It works well, it's also hard to believe that this organic product on an ounce basis costs less than the store brands. I must admit, it tastes like paper at best. It doesn't dissolve well, and it took a couple of days to get use to it. But the trade off is worth considering it's 100% organic psyllium husk.

Those who say it clumped, mixed it all wrong. It's very fine, which makes it more economical because you get more product rather than fillers that make it easier to mix in tap water.I needed to lower my cholesterol a lot. I experimented with this until it was easier to mix. It takes barely a teaspoon in at least 8 oz of very hot water while beating it fast. I use a tiny whisk. The consistency is similar to light syrup. I've added this to my soups without any taste of the product, just thickening. Of course you will use more for larger amounts of liquid. For cold drinks, I add a teaspoon to very hot water, only 4 oz and beat fast, then add my orange juice concentrate, mix fast and add cold water to taste. I don't gulp it down. The juice mix is like a smoothie and I sip it like a smoothie.All you have to do is find foods you like and mix small amounts at a time. Remember it's highly concentrated! I mixed less than a teaspoon in a mug of my favorite chicken broth, BETTER THAN BOUILLON, and it thickens almost like a gumbo. I like the thicker consistency for hot soups. The taste can be masked with spices or sweeting or flavor additives. It's not an awful taste, just not yummy.Results of using this has meant getting "cleaned out" incredibly well!I like this product very much. It will last a long time and I'll continue to play with it because my health depends on lowering this chlosterol as much as possible.I'm hopeful and happy to work with this wonderful product.I hope others will be patient and work with it the way it will work well for you.

I’ve been using various psyllium husk products since about 2002. This is my favorite one by far. Every one of them advertises “not gritty” and they are all super gritty. The worst part for me is trying to clean the damned glass afterwards! The grains stick like cement to the sides of the glass and don’t come off. This brand is ground SUPER fine. Think “corn starch” consistency. Knowing how hard it can be to mix these powders, I like to use a drink shaker. Mixes it up into a smooth suspension that goes down easy with no grit!! And the container can be cleaned with a rinse and couple more shakes. Follow the instructions and drink lots of water for the next few hours- it not only prevents you from getting a solid clog in your intestines, but it actually helps it to work better. Can’t recommend this brand enough. It tastes exactly like the others (add juice or yogurt to mask the taste) but drinks way smoother!!

I see several posted videos about saying it's not water soluble, and well, duh! The ingredients state it has undigestable fiber. You can and should not put in a glass and try to stir it. I use a handheld blender to get it suspended in water.It smells and tastes like wet cardboard consumed alone. The best way to eat it is in yogurt, baked in bread, or in a shake.Just be careful how much you take or it will plug you up.The quantity and price is excellent for the quantity.The quality is pure and organic. It is 1:1 version of the name brand being advertised with flavor added.I gave it 4 starts because of the taste.The packaging is good and resealable.

Love this brand and the psyllium husk powder is so easy to use and incorporate into many many recipes. I use it like a protein powder in baking and smoothies. Quality is good and price is fair for the quantity. No noticeable smell and extremely mild nutty flavor. Comes in a stay fresh resealable bag that can be stored in fridge, freezer, cabinet or container if your choice. Will buy again.

I am on my 2nd bag now & am very happy with the results of this product. The packaging from the 1st bag didn't quite hold up as far as the resealable zipper goes, it failed 1/4 way thru using the bag but I just put it in another container. As far as the actual product- it is very easy to use (I use it daily in a greens drink to increase fiber in my diet) dissolves easily, little to no smell or taste, also works extremely well as a thickening agent for Keto & Paleo cooking or baking. Highly recommend this product.

The Viva Naturals Organic Psyllium Husk Powder is great for adding fiber to smoothies and juices, and I like that it’s organic, vegan, and keto-friendly. However, it makes liquids way too thick, even with small amounts, which can be off-putting if you're looking for a smoother drink. It's better suited for gluten-free baking, but not ideal for beverages. Overall, it's a solid product, but the thickness is a bit much for me.
