Classic 2D flashlight, updated & certified
This resembles the classic 2D flashlights of my youth, though fabricated with very high quality materials, top-drawer fit & finish, and fully certified. The color styling of this model is also striking. The switch action is decisive yet smooth. The beam pattern is excellent: a bright central spot surrounded by a wide cone of dimmer but uniform flood light. The light output (80 lumens) is smaller than many of those ubiquitous 3xAAA lights, but the kicker is that it's rated for 200 hours - that's eight days! The instructions mention - and it's also engraved on the outside of the light - that the certification is only valid with Duracell MN1300 or Energizer E95 alkaline D cells (probably reflects the tests they conducted). Aside from IP67 waterproof, it meets a variety of U.S., European, and worldwide standards for safety in hazardous environments. The outside of the box mentions Operating Temp T5 which would be up to 100C. Alkaline batteries are not recommended above 55C so this is probably a transient temperature condition that the flashlight exterior can withstand without damage. But I'm not planning on ever trying that out.UPDATED March 26, 2022:I bought two of these. But this week when I actually needed the illumination from one of them, the light was unsteady - actually, flashing erratically. It may be the switch (intermittent contact) or possibly the LED unit itself (I checked and even changed out the batteries). Since these come with a warranty, I contacted the manufacturer on their website contact form to request an exchange for a working flashlight. Crickets. I have reduced my star rating from five stars to one. If I ever hear back from the company then I will update the review.

SEEMS STURDY ENOUGH
It's too soon to tell, but it seems sturdy enough. I keep it in the car because the safety rating means I don't have to worry about fumes (like gasoline) at an accident site. Because it just sits in the car (and because they don't make lithium D-cells yet) I am using alkaline d-cells. Flashlights and other things in the house I use rechargeable D-cells. \ted

Cheaply made, very low light quality
Purchased this for inspections my department conducts in enclosed spaces, but the amount of light and the quality of the beam produced is sub par. We would have been better off going tot he dollar store. Sending back, and getting something worth this price.

Awesome, but
This is a VERY good flashlight for the home. The bulb/battery life is long and it is very light and durable. A nice contrast in the world of Surefires and Maglites. I was only slightly disappointed that the LED brightness wasn't quite as I thought had been promised.
